I see. That does make sense, didn't think of it that was at first.

So then why can't you use your original strut? Travel?

You can but the spring rate is lower and they are not as long. If you're adding a bunch of weight it will sag over time.

I think you should try there thinnest top plate spacer (1/4"?). Headstrong said I should run 1/2" (i think) with skids, sliders, bumper and winch.

Thanks for the info! More than likely whenever I get the bumper, I'll make the call to headstrong and see the suggestions to acheive the full 3" the best way possible.

Looking on headstrong website and saw also an ome 888 coil that's taller than 887, same spring rate. Would those work for me? With the added weight? Or am i guaranteed so sag if I do?

Headstrong recommended 886 for me with a plate bumper, winch, skids etc. The way I understand it (could be wrong) is that and 887 or 888 spring will make your truck ride like a tank because they are too stiff.

Not sure on the 888s (though I believe they are the same) but 887s actually have a lower spring rate than the 886s. You are correct that you should go with 886s if you're going to have a bunch of weight up front.

That's what I have and only have about 2.5" of lift.

Alright so if I want 3" could I just get the 1/2" top plate spacers and I'll be good? Will that be good and safe?

It'll get you close if not all the way there.

The way it was explained to me by headstrong was that the top plate spacer adds more lift then it's thickness? Might work through magic or something.
