It isn't programmed but, in the event I have to use that spare, I can get it scanned into the truck. I wrote down the i.d. numbers. I figure it may be needed if I end up running on the spare for an extended time. If I am out of town and have a flat I can pull into a Sears or a tire shop and get it programmed.

Ain't been here in several months...

But i traded in my 2016 white Spartan SR5 for a 2017 black 4x4... This makes my 4th third gen tacoma.

The only reason i traded was because i wanted 4x4... I love these trucks. But during the trade in process i find out about the huge recall for leaking diffs and my white truck was on the list.... Whew... Guess i dodged a bullet.

I still owed on the white truck. Only had it 1 year. 19k miles. They gave me 3200 more than i owed on the trade. Helped bring my payments back down on the 4x4.. I'm happy.

But now I'm starting all over again on mods!

Why didn't you swap some of your stuff over to the new truck?

Nothing wrong with trading up to get what you want since you are the one paying for it. Just think how far ahead you would be financially if you bought the black 4 x 4 first. Not to mention the mods you already made to your other trucks. I came close to trading mine once or twice. My payoff is now under $8800 and still has under 12k miles on it. Every time I wish this or want that I think about my loan. When I get down to $5000 I will pay it off and I will retire. I guess that is the driving force for me. Now if I was 10 years younger I would probably have a completely different attitude. Glad you finally have what you want......or do you ?

Simple things like the bed mat, floor mats, organizers i did swap over...

But my favorite mod was my exhaust... Welded on... The grille wouldn't match this truck and to be honest it drew too much attention... I'm getting older... Didn't care for the attention. I had already planned to swap to a solid mesh grille.

On the stealth light bar I had to cut the plastic inside to make it fit and it was bolted down to the crash bar...

All that being said... Man i was just excited to be getting 4 wheel drive. I didn't think twice about any of the mods except my exhaust... But I'll be doing the same exhaust to this one in the next 2 weeks.

Yes i do... Finally.... Well except these God awful street tires it came with LOL

I live and play in the woods. Sand pits about a mile from my home. A mile and a half from my house to pavement. Rains a lot in Florida. Camp roads get muddy... 4X4 = more fun lol

When i got the first taco it was a 2016.4cyl sr access cab... It was what i could afford. But then i totaled it, not at fault, within the first 3 months i had it. Insurance and gap paid it off and left me a little extra. Plus another big bill was paid off freeing up a little more money... So then i got a dcsb sr5, i wanted 4x4 then but my payments would of went up 60 bucks a month from a sr5 to 4x4... I couldn't understand that at all so i skipped 4x4...

But after paying on it for a year, and them giving me more than i owed i was able to get the 4x4 for only $21 more per month... That was good enough for me lol

I'm only 33... But I'm "retired" ...well technically I'm a disabled veteran on a specialized pension, but same concept... I don't think I'll ever truly be debt free... But I'll continue to be the happiest poor person i know haha!

Yes I get that. I am disabled too but still working for the DOD. I remember the first one you had that was totaled. I def see your need for the 4 x 4. I guess by now you know what mods you like and dislike.

dont take it off road. i had this cover, took it off road, and the brackets that attach to the bed rails bent and the cover shifted toward the passenger side about 2in.
