Thats a nice chainsaw you got there. Any problems with it yet? And how heavy is that flat bed? I was thinking of maybe making a stakebody for mine.

It always starts no matter how cold it is. It's a ms170 with the forest service bar and chain conversion. The flat bed weighs about 400, me and another big dude can pick it up off there and carry it a short distance. I will build you one if your around Arizona. Also how do I look up members from my area. I'm tired of off roading by myself.

Wow, impressive. What does the trailer weight? I bought a 20' travel trailer (3500lbs loaded) last fall and pulled it home, about 600 miles without issue. I plan on using it in the mountains this summer and curious and how it will pull up the grades. I do have a header and exhaust which helped quite a bit.

are you guys using the 75w85 GL5 gear oil that Toyota recommends for the 2nd GEN trucks or did you use a 75w90 or other oil? that 75w85 is a very thin oil even compared to the 75w90, when your hauling these heavier loads.

Knew it was back there on starts and long uphills kept it in 4th but I think it did awesome!
Polaris is 1,200 lbs gassed, not sure on the trailer.

So here is the new set up. 2015 taco. 6 cylinder 4.0 liter. TRD sport with tow pacakage. Camper is 3075lbs dry weight. As it sits in this picture it is around 3500lbs. It towed without hesitation. It even accelerates uphill ! No big mountains but some good hills. It is a little bouncy driving back roads. I did decide Im going to put hellwig airbags on it in a couple weeks.

this sounds like a good idea to run the 75w90 the 75w85 is thin probably good for MPGs but not protection hauling heavier loads and high heat.

I have plenty of faith in my Redline synthetic 75w-85, even with my scamp travel trailer.

Edit: I only use it in my diff's, MT90 in the MT and T-case

yes, im inquiring about the 75w85 weight my brother has the 2nd gen and he has just changed out the diffs and transfer case at 50k miles and I helped him the rear diff magnetic bolt had a lot of residues on it but its the first time he had done the 30k maintainence. he replaced the oil with Redline 75w85 gl5 too it looked extremely thin compared to mobil1 75w90 he used in the transfer case (visually). and the cost of Redline is twice as much as the mobil1 too. was wondering maybe best to use the 75w90 next time even tho the MPGs may suffer but protect better.

Pulling the boat to the lake. Twenty foot fishing boat that weights approx 3700lbs. No issues pulling or stopping. It actually stops better than my previous truck, a 2010 Silverado.

Not an issue. I've taken it out in 2wd but normally use 4 low. It crawls out with hardly any throttle input.

That's great to hear. I'm installing a tranny cooler and the hitch to get ready for a boat purchase in the future. Mines only 2wd so that's good to hear. Boat will prob only be 17 feet though.

17' shouldn't be an issue but it does comes down to weight. I also have the tranny cooler and LCE header. I also monitor my tranny temps.
