Again. The lest few inches of the frame the bumper attaches too. Nothing to do with safety. And yes ill habe the frame fixed at a shop. For less than 500... after that. The bumpers are cosmetic. I could drive it as is legally. I jjst want it fixed necause its a noce truck

Ill also have my documentation saying it was totaled over potential driveline damage. They can drive it. Its fine.

Your crazy man, I started in Car sales with Toyota and then Went into Insurance with the same dealership, I am even working right now. Your all talk. If I was to send this link to the Insurance company they would use everything against you (im not afraid of an inspection. Or some repairs. Truthfully the damage done has nothing to do with the safety lf the vehicle. Especially if i show them the pic of the accident. Im sire itll pass inspection as is honestly. Then ill fix at my leisure. If i took my time i could fix this truck.for 1000 all in.)

They totaled your truck, That means there is serious frame damage, I dont know what your mah and pa dealership did but it sounds like you lied and bent people over. You will have to pay way more for it to be road worthy or you wont have Insurance, You wont have anything.

You say your the best salesmen yet you are a painter, I respect painters they work hard but lets be real. Most the people that have been talking with you they have been offering advise or questioning what the Insurance company was telling you for your best interest. Most people go through this in there lives so I am sure a lot of people here have useful tips.

When you "fix" your frame it has to be within spec before the accident I am talking techs have to go in with computers and make it straighter then the eye can see.

At the end of the day your posting on a forum and fighting for your position to everyone here who has given you advice, You are sitting here writing about it and telling everyone how good of a sales person you are and you fix cars with no issues for 1k.

    ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I ASKKKKKKKK

Is that you keep writing on here until your truck is considered "rebuilt" I want to laugh and enjoy the post, You are in for it. Everything you have said and done has been on assumptions.

Ok.. im wrong. Your right. There arent 15 frame shops within 10 minutes of me that have all that equipment and are motavated by hundred dollar bills.

The vehice was field inspected. By a female with a camera in 10 minutes. Thats it.. once again.. it was totaled for potentially driveline issues. Im willing.to take that risk therefore im keeping it..

My first car I financed was a 2010 Jeep Liberty (ok ok guys it was the one 4wd under 20k)

I clipped a mailbox and my side doors were destroyed (nothing else)

My Insurance shelled out almost 9 THOUSAND DOLLARS replacing 2 doors and the fender and rear bumper. there was no frame damage or anything.

Now think for a minute on your truck..... you are not going to fix this truck and make it road worthy for 1k, your doubting the field person because shes a female.... you fail to realize her job is to save the company as much money as possible....

She did you a favor by totaling it and its because she knew just by seeing it that it was not road worthy.

This truck would not of been a total for the first even the damage plus a new transmission wouldn't total the truck.

Just went through the same situation with my truck.

He's playing everyone for a fool and many are taking the bait

Maybe im wrong guys.. hell maybe indont even have a truck and this is a dream.

You see... i only started this thread for advice on the transmission and to share an interesting life experience. I posted the update on my claim because well... i thought some fellow Tacoma owners would appreciate a situation where someone got treated fairly and not screwed... should have ended there...

But no. I get all these bored people telling me im lying and full of it. Im stupid. My truck is trashed. Im dumb and dont kmow what rebuilt titles and salvage titles are. When ive made it perfectly clear... i know what im doing... the truck is worth saving and im trying to be happy about maybe ending up with the upper end of the deal. Which i should. After all. I work my dick off for a nice vehicle and someone hits it. I should be made happy.. but these people who are either bored or jealous want to instigate shit..... and actually once the whole thing started in that direction i tried to delete the thread. And i couldnt find a way to. Everything was nice and cool till people with no stake or reason to care so deeply started calling me an idiot and a liar. Meanwhile. Nothing will change. And ill habe my truck. Thanks guys...

Personally, I lump people who drive with no insurance, in the same catagory as drunk drivers. Assholes that don't care about anyone else on the road.

"I drove for 10 years with no insurance. I'm reformed now"
    Ya, sure, OK.

Respect. You either have it or you don't.

your right. But as a struggling musician rIght out of high school i tried to get insurance and figured out i couldnt afford it on my 7 dollar an hour salary. I knew i was a safe driver i ended up just risking it. Paid many tickets for it at 250 a pop. Still far less than insirance would have cost. And guess what... disrespect or not. I never needed it. Sure i was lucky.

About 4 or 5 years ago i got tired of taking the risk and i got insurance. Reformed? Maybe not. But ive got coverage.

And i wasnt bragging anout not having it. Just explaing to whoever i quoted that im not scared of having to deal wigh the title inspection and maybe having insurance lapse for a month while i get it all done.

If frame damage is present then it can quickly total it out. Some companies will just cut the loss.

Yet he even said the present damage didn't total the vehicle it was his concern about the drive train that magically made it a total.

Indeed. Apparently, insurance companies have now started totaling vehicles for "potential issues" instead of real ones.

    Whoda thunk it?

Yeap,Also wouldn't want too be the guy buying the truck if the O.P. decides too sell it due too the fact it will be pieced together and the frame will still be junk. The O.P. could not register the truck here in Nevada with a salvage title without a certified rebuild from a pro repair shop, then the truck would have too be inspected by motor vehicles before it would be allowed to be registered.

No inspector will unless the O.P. is again in charge of DMV also.

Frame machines can do some pretty amazing things these days, my rear was damaged much worse then the picture he posted and it cost me 458.00 from a Toyota certified repair shop.
