    Clear edge guard would probably be a good idea. Currently, there's a 1/4 inch space between the bottom of the license plate and the painted top part of the bumper. (RE: 2016-2017 Tacoma mount)

    I just purchased a 2016 Tacoma, and would love to add a front plate to my truck. I have a pewter plate, and it's pretty heavy. Is this bracket strong enough to hold something like that without breaking something where it attaches?

    Our brackets are made of strong aluminum. Its where on the lower grille you attach it to that really matters when installing a pewter plate. For a pewter plate I do not recommend a center mounting on a 2016 Tacoma. You would need to install the mount closest to one of the vertical supports on the grille because that would be the strongest part of the lower grille. Then need to see if it feels secure or not. See photo.
