Looks good man. I've wanted to do mine since I got the truck but have been too scared of melting a headlight and they cost a lot to replace. I've been thinking about trying to find some used for a better price so I have a spare set in case I screw it up but havent been willing to spend the money yet or risk it without a spare set. I'll give in and do it sometime for sure unless a nice after market one gets released in the near future.

After doing it, there really shouldn't be any worry about melting the plastic. It gets hot, but nothing deformed. The hardest part for me was getting the old sealant cleaned out. I got rid of a lot, but not all of it. I used new butyl and had a hard time getting it squeezed back together. I think it's sealed all the way around, but it's not as tight of a gap between the housing and lens as before.

Did you re-heat when applying the new butyl? From my research the seal on the 3rd gens is more of a pain to separate/remove than the 2nd gens. Still doable but most people get a little deformation to the backside. The only thing that worry's me is that if I screw up the cost to replace 1 light is around $600...

I had a piece of cardboard with some aluminum foil on the bottom side that I set the lights on in the oven. That way the plastic didn't touch any metal. I heated it once after I cleaned up some of the old butyl. I then applied the new stuff, set the lens in position and heated in the oven once more. After that I squeezed the halves together and reinserted all the screws. I then threw it in the oven for a couple more minutes to reheat the butyl again. Cranked the screws down a little more and called it good.

Spent a few hours under the truck this afternoon, rear diff and transfer case both have fresh Mobile 1 in them now. Rear diff oil looked pretty black (glad I didn't go any longer than 30k), but the transfer case oil came out only slightly tinted (amber-colored) compared to the fresh oil. Dropped the skid plate to do the front diff, got as far as breaking the filler bolt before noticing that the bottom of the front diff was wet, seems there's a leak in a seal somewhere. Doesn't appear to be from the CV's, but rather it almost looks like from around the actuator. Going to let Toyota figure it out, service scheduled for Wed morning.

Crawfish boil yesterday, today has been our moving day.

Amazing how gas mileage goes from bad to worse with a trailer.

I may be the odd man out but I've yet to hear a Tacoma with exhaust that actually sounds good.

Ok, so the compressor I'm using can't quite get a 5gal tank up to 120 psi.

I figured this might be an issue, works ok w/ no tank, but I'd like be able to use a tank. You guys now if that Viar 88p can handle it or of another inexpensive compressor that can?

The 300p price seems to be trending down for the moment. Ive never tested my 88p over 60psi, would be burning hot
