Interesting caliber. Read about it a few times but its one of those that doesnt fill any gaps for me. If i hunted with an AR-15 i could use it but since I dont its kind of meh. Or if i was consistently shooting longer distances (over 400 yards) i could see it. But anything over 300 yards if im not playing with the mk12mod0 im using the AR-10.

It is a nice option to have a "base" set of components to use between all three calibers though (bolts and mags the same, cases derived from the same, plus same primers)

I'm not taking any 300+ yd shots, although the 277 and x40 will both get there with decent energy and speed considering the parent case. I just finished an x40 build that I intend to take some hogs with. We'll see how it does.

A pinned gas block is always nice! I've done the same several times.

Was gonna buy a low profile gas block and then i saw youtube videos on doing this and i was sold. I like modding a part that is still factory to work beyond it's intended use

Love it when gun parts show up in the mail! Now if only the barrel I want would come back in stock...:annoyed:

Blued the gas block and re pinned it which was easy and put the hand guard on. This thing feels ten times better than the ab arms drop on and the a2 post gone cleans up the look nicely. Can't wait to put some lead down the barrel but haven't quite decided on the final optics setup. Gonna use the prior a2 top with scope set i have that shooting pennies at 50 yards

it shouldn't have any thread locker, it does have a crush washer which maybe over tight. Put the wrench on and wack it with a hammer couple times

Plenty of companies use some type of thread locker.
Plenty of heat will break it loose. I just swapped out one on a 308 and it took a fair amount of heat.

Better to ask what I have not done.
Go to the range with 200rounds of ammo and fire it off as fast as you can and then get the wrench and just twist it off.

    Ps.

You get double bonus points if you supplement the wrench for your bare hand:thumbsup:

Just put some lead through the gun to make sure it cycles right and to my surprise its good. I can really get my hand around the guard for a tight grip and to manage recoil better
