I just woke up from a 3 hour nap.

Nieghbor kid bought a new dirt bike. (HONDA 450) His dad knew I used to ride. So they asked me if I wanted to take it for a spin around the field.

I couldn't get my leg up high enough to get on the kick starter.

In Bill's defense a 450 does sit pretty tall.

 

There was a time I could start an XR600 Honda on flip flops. Hardest bike to start ever built. I'm 6'-4".... Should be able to stomp a kick starter. Legs just wont bend.

 

My feet don't touch the ground on a 450.

 

Put my fat ass on the seat and my KNEES touch the ground.

 

Well, if I stopped on one I'd fall over.

I'd be fine while riding though.

 

Once I got it started, it was like old times! Blew the kids mind when I stood it up on the back wheel and went through all the gears.

Would MUCH rather have a good old school 2-stroke though.

 

Beautiful cemetery. Nice way to honor your family members and the rest of the patriots buried there. I grew up in Richmond and go to Hollywood Cemetery every once in a while when I visit my family.

 

I made it half way. Told her it was her turn. Every time I fell asleep, I was woken by the slamming of breaks.

We made it, now drinking Bud Light.

Had a great weekend down at Padre National Seashore. We took the Tacoma down to mile marker 40 and setup camp. It was super windy all weekend which was good bc it kept the mesquito's away but it wrecks havoc on your gear. This morning at 2:30 we started seeing flashes of lightning and then finally a huge crack of thunder which prompted us to load up the dogs and sit in the truck. We had zero cell service so not sure how severe the storm was but I would guess it was a pocket of yellow/red if we did have weather radar.

Anyways, thanks to the Tacoma we survived the storm and more importantly this morning was able to trek back 40 miles with the tide washing out nearly the entire beach. Below is a video of what it looked like driving back. Had to hug the dunes to get out.

I blew out around 10 - 15lbs of seaweed this afternoon when we got home. It was under the skid plate, wrapped around all the driveline and up in the frame. It was disgusting.




All in all it was a great trip and this is a great example of why these trucks are like tanks. I knew I could depend it and makes me wanna keep on driving it the higher and higher the miles get.

First brisket cooked on the Traeger was a success. Still have half of it uncooked. Might have to repeat next weekend!
