So just put this bumper on and I'm wondering if this is enough bite on the studs? I had to shim this side to even it up. Thanks

It doesn't look like any thread is past the end of the nut. How many turns did you have to spin the nut before it tightened?

There's not any thread. Honestly I'm not sure how many turns. It's as tight as I can get it there. The other side isn't much further down. The thread may be just to the top of the nut on it.

I am assuming the shems are the gold washers?

As stated, it depends on where the threads of that bolt start. It appears to be flanged, yet does make it all of the way through the nut. Personally, i would say it should be fine. Especially if the shems are as thin as the gold washers in the picture.

Yes the shims are the gold washers and those are the only ones. The inner one has plenty of thread sticking out. Not sure why the two outter barely have any. Im not planning on a winch right now i just want to make sure its secure.

Something looks weird with that. Here's mine installed with no shims.

See mine isn't like that. Not sure why but mine has another back plate welded onto it to make it thicker.

Actually...just noticed the plate in front of the shims. Any idea if that's normal?

Not sure, that's part of the bumper. Makes it very thick.

Is there an extra spacer or piece of plate sandwiched between the bumper and gold shims?

Definitely didn't come that way from Pelfreybilt.
Looks like someone got their hands on it and mangled the fuck out of it

Got it from my neighbor and he says he didn't touch it. He bought it new this past year. Now that's his words of course. He did show me the receipt for when he bought it.

Very strange. Someone isn't fessing up and I highly doubt Pelfrey would let something like that out of their shop but anything is possible I suppose.

Not sure why they would have washers between the bumper and the flange on the frame. I'd consider removing them if possible to get a bit more thread engagement. I still can't tell if the threads are at the end of the nut but if they are, then you should be ok. It's been a long time since my Engineering classes but I think I recall something about most of the strength is in the first three full engaged threads. As long as you have 4 turns, then 3 of them should have full engagement.
