I have a 2015 TRD Sport, no heated seats. Love this truck in spite of the lousy dealers in Abq.

Well, bought the 2015 TRDOR today. Really pleased with the deal and the exceptional condition of the truck. First Toyota pickup for me and first truck of any kind since the early 80's. I have owned a couple classic pickups but nothing modern. Plan on owning this one for a long time. Before you say it; dealer plates, frames and badges are already off. LOL! I took these photos on the first test drive.

Thanks again everyone for all the input.

If you like it that much, buy it. It's close enough in price to what I'd say is fair, based on what you've said.

    Congrats on your purchase!

I've not seen a sport with an OEM heated seat option, thought that was only the limited.

Regardless, the OR gets you the following different than the sport:
    -Rear locker
    -ATRAC off road traction control
    -Hill accent control
    -Hill decent control (on auto)
-Electronically boosted brakes (noticeably more braking power)
    -Lighter weight sway bar
    -chrome grill surround/rear bumper
    -16" wheels

    Sport gets you:
    -color match grill surround/rear bumper
    -hood scoop
    -17" wheels

Assuming both trucks are 4x4 TRDs with the tow package the other benefits will be the same. The OR package adds function, the sport adds cosmetics.

I'm admittedly not a chrome fan, I added the scooped hood, color matched bumper and color matched grill to my OR for about $650.

I like the chrome bumper on the OR. Painted bumpers look good but get rusty and peel where I live in the rust belt. Id prefer the scoop and blacked out grill surround but doubt I will ever do anything about it. Prefer more sidewall on my tires and also the look of the OR OEM wheels. I used to wheel my two old Land Cruisers and still want the off road goodies.

In very late 2015, I had a choice between the 2016 and 2015. I drove both and I thought the 2016 torque curve was too high. I didn't really notice a transmission problem. The 2016 was quieter and had a moonroof, but it was $39,865 while they offered if I took one of the last two 2015, they would offer it to me for $31,800. I have not regretted that decision since.

That price for the 2015 you are looking is on the less expensive side. A few around here in the Pacific Northwest I have seen go for more. If the truck is clean and well cared for, go for it!

I was told by a Toyota guru sorts that the Aisin A750F transmission in the 2nd gen was actually designed to be mated with the 4.7L V8. They just used the same for the 4.0L V6, hence it was overbuilt for our engines. The new one in the 2016 and beyond has no luxury.

    Buy it!

Welcome to the club. There goes your wallet. A truly beautiful base to start your build.

Two things that annoyed me about my 2015 was the lack of dash clock and a rear view mirror with outside temp and compass. They are easy to add and readily available.

Did you add those heated seats, or are they OEM?

Did you add the temp/Compass mirror yourself? I have the electrical connector above the console but it only has 2 pins.. can I buy a compass/temp mirror and plug and play?

No, mine didn't come with them. It's a rare option on a TRD Sport. I did however use the Toyota switches. But mine came with green LED lights, I swapped them out with white ones.

You can buy the proper mirror with all the wires already set on eBay or there is a guy on here who sells them. It may even be the same person. The power plugs right in above the mirror and you run the wires to the temp sensor. Compass only needs power to run.

    Thanks all.
My son and I are already planning a back country fishing trip in Colorado this summer. Should be a fun trip in the Tacoma. We had planned to take his 180,000 mile 4.7 V8 2004 4Runner but now I will want the Tacoma for that trip.

Good purchase on the truck! 2015 is the last year of the 2nd gen Tacomas and 2012-2015 look the best IMO. Lots of custom parts available and you can install a TRD supercharger to the 4.0L V6...if you can find one!

Not hard to find anymore. Readily available:
    http://urdusa.com/store/p1260519438/Magnuson,-Supercharger,-2005-2015-Tacoma-V6/product_info.html

Add the 2.85 pulley to make it far more fun. Skip the problematic Bullydog tune and go for the OEM TRD reflash and save a few hundred more off the price with better and more reliable performance.

That's a good price! I purchased a certified 2015 double cab Prerunner SR5 V6 with 24,000 miles earlier this year for $27,500. Truck already had side steps and a hard bed cover. I thought that was a solid deal! Didnt want TRD or 4x4 cause I have no need but should have searched out due to helping the resale but, hind sight is 20x20. After seeing all the issues with gen 3's glad I didn't go with new and got a used.
