Did I happen to say " I live in the first or second most dangerous city in the USA depending on the polls. I make my living teaching gun safety for CCW permit holders. I carry two in the truck. One in pocket and one within reach. Police here expect and advise you to carry.

Go back and read my post a little slower this time and think about how it's worded. Your assumptions just might be wrong, or they might be right. You don't know, that's my point. Surprise.

Glock19 with the $35 holster wedged in the seat/console. Then it's on me after I'm out of the truck

It's amazing how the anti-gun lobby folks always think the police are there to protect them every single instant of their lives. In most cases, the police are there for one of two things: To take your victim's report or to put the toe tag on you.

Or they think that the evil lurking in the world will never find them, ever. Not when they are driving, not when at home, not at a restaurant with their family, simply not ever. Or they figure they will get by on their superior reasoning skills or charm if confronted with the evil in the world that never, ever happens in their burb but only in those seedy places like the Chicago hoods or Compton.

I'd hate to know how some of our Kalifornia comrades here would react to a full gun rack like was so popular just a few years ago. They'd probably create a hashtag and hold up signs in traffic or something.

Although the culture is different and we can't carry pistols here (canada) I can understand the want to have one for protection...but I will never understand what type of possible confrontation you could ever expect to need that.

If your reply is simply going to be 'i have the right to' or some sort of thing targeted at Canadians don't bother really don't care. I'm more so genuinely interested in the serious reason why one would think you need that...I mean if you need that many bullets you're either expecting a whole group of people to come after you...and unless you're a criminal or witness to something I don't see the average citizen being that threatened. Besides with that much how fuckin terrible is your aim and how many innocents will you hit while trying to hit your target? Not to mention realistically if say it was in the case of a car jacking you can't reach for that and draw it to protect yourself as fast as you could pull a pistol say. I see a pistol as protection more than that just being pointless overkill trying to compensate for something else lol

its similar here in canada sort of...
I mean firearm transport you can't have it loaded, must be locked and ammo away from it in the trunk. nevermind we can't even carry with us like you can. But a cop can't pull you over and search your vehicle without a warrant. As your vehicle is private property and cannot be entered without a warrant. As long as your vehicle is locked they can't do anything. Even if they arrest you they can't legally search without getting a warrant first. You don't even need to get out if asked unless they are saying you're being detained. But you're more likely to be bothered and have a hard time if you don't do as they ask, as long as you don't actually have anything illegal with you.

Our transport laws are the same as yours in CA basically. But ya our vehicles are our own and cops can't touch you if you're in one unless they are detaining you. Basically a cop can't search me if I remain in my vehicle. But if I get out they can search me.

Dang that was a long post to just vanish but anyway, hangun related death statistic are so high (especially for the owner of the gun) because suicides are factored in to those numbers which i would guess acounts for ~70%. Non lethal deturence is pointless in the usa because the assailant will just fill a quality of life (or some garbage like that) claim against you if he/she is injured and then they will wind up with everything you owned. I havent always carried but i have always lived in a house with guns and i always slept good at night because of it. A lock will only keep an honest person out.

ya figured not worth having all the pro gun lovers go ape shit lol.

I agree locks are only for the honest and I understand the gun being in a house making it feel safer. Even though I no longer have a gun in my house, I still have my bows and crossbows for hunting and would not hesitate to use one. Even though our laws are fuckin bullshit and soudn the same as for you. If someone breaks into my house and I hurt them I can be charged with assault. hell if my dog attacks them they could get a court order for my dog to be put down.
I mean odds of it actually winning in court are slim but that law still does exist. which is bullshit if you ask me.
I think both systems are flawed both in Canada and the US though.
That being said I still dont feel the need to always have a gun with me.

    Just culture difference I guess.

Tim hortons is complete fcking garbage I agree lol.
I guess it does also depend where you live, I'm guessing you're more in the rural country portion? If that's the case and you're also using it sort of for hunting I get that.

Dude I've fired plenty of guns too and my uncle has way too many like any american to me lol. and I get the fun in firing them. I just thought you were actually carrying that in regards to protection like many would carry a pistol... which like I said drawing that will take longer than a pistol in which you'd likely be killed before you could get to it.

I'm hoping the kids and thinking its a toy is a joke though, although it doesn't appear to be loaded still, kids playing with a gun is how they kill each other or their parents.

If you're in the country and you're carrying to go do target shooting or for animals ok I can get that.
