Weathertech liners poor fit

I've had my Weathertechs for almost a month now. The driver's side front liner fits very well and is snug on all surfaces. The front passenger side liner, however, isn't very snug in the kick panel area underneath the glove box near the passenger door. It is contoured correctly but it bows out a bit leaving about a half of an inch that becomes larger when a passenger has their feet on the liner. Is this normal for the passenger side near the door? I'd like to know before I call Auto Anything...

 

You got any pics? Mine are pretty snug but they're not gonna look like they were poured onto the floor, I think it's normal.

 

No pics yet, I'm charging the camera. I wouldn't be concerned if it was as nice as the driver's side. Are yours equally snug?

 

Mine fit great! Try letting them warm up in the sun for a while to make them more flexible.

Double sided tape also mey help!

 

In the first pic, I put a bit of pressure on the mat to simulate the way it would be with someone's feet on it:

In the second pic, the is no pressure on the mat and it's hard to see the gap, which is about 3/8"

 

try to bend them-- i had the same sort of issue, but then i found out theyre somewhat plyable(sp?).

 

Looking at my own pics, I see there's a black plastic fastener holding down the kick panel where it contacts the carpet and protrudes some. I think the liner sitting on it causes the gap to form when pressure is put on the liner...

 

On the passenger side, I took a small razor and cut a little crescent so the top right corner would drop behind that black plastic nub on the floor, fits perfectly flat now...

 

You have to tuck it under that black nub thing. I thought the same thing when I first put it in and was like wtf this doesn't fit like everyone said. Then I jacked the thing back and popped the corner of it under that tab and now it fits pretty darn good. Try that first and if it doesn't wanna go under or buckles or something just cut enough material to make it so it slides under it.

 

heat it up with a heat gun and mold it for a better fit

I don't mean to hijack this thread but since everyone in it has these mats I would like to know how much you paid for them. On the AutoAnything site, front mats only for a Tacoma (2010) are $118., plus shipping. Does that sound right? Thx.

 

Mine were a bit warped , but i left the heat on the floor on high and after a day or 2 they were fitting good all the time. Meaning with a passenger or me, any gap was notreally noticable / under 1/4"

 

Use some velcro to get it to stick to the kick pannel! and use a heat gun to mold them better. Mine needed a little trimming like mentioned above! Good luck!

 

Yeah...Heat will let you mold them. Minor trimming is a maybe thing- but I was able to get my seated with just a heat gun...

 

I ordered mine for a DC from Autoanything on 1-31-10. With a price match to autoaccessoriesgarage.com, they gave them to me for $173.90.

 

Heat it up with a blow dryer and form it.

 

Sorry for the delay in getting a few shots.. Nothing special, just get a razor knife and cut a small notch so the liner doesn't bind under the floor nub. Lets the liner lay down like it was intended.
