    I got one last year. "Adopted" it from the AZ Fish & Game. I let my girls name him "rocky".
    The first week I had him, the little bastard escaped (he pushed through the gate in the back after the wind had blown it open about 6").
    I thought the fucker was totally gone so I put up lost tortoise posters around the neighborhood, mostly so the kids would know I was at least trying to find him.

    Turned out he made it two doors down (SO lucky he didn't end up in the street) and my neighbors had him when we went door knocking. What a joyous day that was!

    Fun areas would be joe tank road. Nice scenic area with a couple split off trails. Or go back off burton rd mile marker 2 hang a left and go that way. Up outside of town the other way towards Springerville there are more headed up to greenspeak
