if it were me, i would just pay $75 to $100 to get it linexed. that is what i have
on my rear bumper, running bars, and all my racks and bars on my atv. i am going
to put it on my cbi bumper when it gets here. the stuff is bullet proof. i have wacked
more crap with my bursh bars on my atv and they don't have a scratch. it shows dirt
bad, but i don't care. all you have to do to clean it is spray the tire cleaning foam on it and it is clean as a whistle. that is what i do 2 or 3 times a year when i clean my truck, hee, hee. i am to lazy to clean it. that is why i bought a gray one.

The quote I got in town is $225. I'll have to try to find the Rustoleum stuff and compare it with the duplicolor. Maybe i'll get a can of each and see how each looks once sprayed. Anyone have any good pics of the texture and color?

man you need to talk some crap to them for that price. that is what i
did. ask them what they chare to do a truck bed. it should be around $400. then ask them why on earth will something that less than 1/3 the size of a truck bed cost 1/2 the price. they tried to do that to me to. i told them i would do $75 for my bumper, and got them to do it for $100.

Are you planning on doing any prep? If that bumper's been unpainted for more than a few days it won't matter what you paint it with, it's not gonna stay on for long. Hit it with wire brush on a drill and then prime it. You'll save yourself some work down the road.

man, you some of you guys are sayin to pay $100 of linex, or what not, and i am sure its good, but if you go rock crawling, the bumpers take a hit, and will def get chipped over time. and then if you fill that in with paint, you gonna make it look stupid, for $50, he can paint it, protect it, and have exxtra, to do again if and when it ever chips.

I am gonna hit it with the wheel to get off all the rust. The only thing I could find in town was the Rustoleum. As for talking the shop down on price, they dont budge because they are the only one in town that does it. They are way too proud of their products, they also want over $1500 for an ARB bumper

Thats what I was thinking too. It all depends on weather. The weather should be warm tomorrow so I might try to start it tomorrow. I am also thinking about spraying the grill surround.

now, the grill surround im not a fan of painting,. ilike mine colormatched,....but then again, i dont havea bad ass tank bumper, maybe i would tape off the surround, paint the tape and see how it looks, so you can always peel the tape and back to normal if its not what you expected

I tested the rustoleum and duplicolor on an aerosol spray lid. The duplicolor came out more plasticy and the rustoleum looked legit. As far as scratching. They were kind of the same. Maybe Rustoleum a little better. I will be using the rustoleum to do my sliders.

it will not chip, it is basily spray on rubber. if you dent your bumper it
will bend with the bumper. i have a friend that has dents all over the inside of is truck bed, no chips. linex and rhino liner are not even in the same league as powder coating. i had a atv burn up several years ago.
it got so hot my skid plates and rims melted and formed puddles. the racks and bumpers i had linexed were fine. some came of in a few spots,
i just got them sand blasted. i had them re-sprayed and they are on my current atv. it is expensive, but like alot of things in life, you get what
you pay for. if you are planning on keeping your truck for a long time, like
i am, it is worth the money.
