Is it possible to put Tundra brakes and rotors on a 2017 Tacoma? I seen older ones would accept them. Put can't seem to see it 3rd gen can and what year Tundra will fit on the Tacoma.

Tundras have a 5 lug pattern as of 2007, much different than any of the other 5 lugs.

Might be some truth there...my 99 runner I put 06 tundra rotors and calipers on it (solid move btw). It only referenced up to 06 as an option .

So you think 06 tundra will have the setup I need? I'm gonna price it out and look at that. What I've seen people like it and stops a lot better.

Dood, on a taco I have no idea...i supersized my 99 T4R with 06 Tundra front brake setup, it's well doc'd.

You will definitely want to do due diligence on rim clearance. It's tight on my 99 with stock 5 lugs

The lug pattern has nothing to do with using a Tundra caliper and all you have to do is purchase the correct size rotor to match it.

He asked if the brakes will fit, easy answer was 5 lug.

Also the caliper will not bolt up. It's the simplest way to explain to people the tundra swap is not possible.

On top of all that I don't even know if the tundra brakes clear 17" rims. They don't sell them with 17's.

Tacomas come with 13WL style calipers from the factory now, so buying 13WL's to replace your 13WL's is a bit pointless...

Toyota sells some "Rock Warrior" wheels for the 07+ Tundra that are 17x8", so it is possible to fit a few 17" wheels over the Tundra brakes. The caliper could bolt up if he fabricated his own mounting plate. The rotor hat could always be drilled as long as the holes don't overlap. If you're trying to switch out your rear drums for the Tundra discs you'd need a new master cylinder and would have to verify the pressure drop down the rear brake lines. I think that it would be much easier to find a front upgrade kit that's designed for the Tacoma. Or, you could always buy a Tundra.

    all tore up already
Why do you need better brakes is the question. Ive driven down mt washington and towed a car. I can set off abs on dry pavement. Not sure what they could do better, i never experienced fade. Engage abs quicker? Youd likely have shorter stopping distance with a performance tire over a big brake kit since traction is the limiting factor here. Unless youve been hitting track days not sure i see the point. But i do commend you for not bringing up rear di... nope not gonna say it

umm is a 16+ spindle different because the 231mm Tundra caliper does bolt right up. The caliper appears identical but has slightly larger pots and longer mounting tabs...bolts directly on a second gen. You can get reman's pad and rotors for around $500

Our problem is years. I'm talking 2007+ You are talking >2006.

The older 231mm swap will work. The newer is 354mm much much bigger.

Yes. I've read that 2007+ is 5 lug. And the 2006- is the 6 lug.

Honestly the taco brakes are more than adequate moreso than the trade off to getting a 5-lug and the rather limited wheel options

No I will go with the 2006- with 6 lug. My issue is all the weight from all the steel I have.
    205lb's bumper with winch
    Front skid
    Tranny
    Transfer
    Sliders
    Gas tank
    Rear duff
    LCA
There is a lot of weight not from factory. Just looking at options.

I have more than that and my taco still stops fine (also have bed rack, RTT, Wilco hitchgate and spare wheel/tire). You'd be better off just getting a better pad and rotor set-up when comparing dollar to return.

Haha they have three different kits depending on rim size so just check that and I think they have a group buy right now.
