A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
So I can confirm with the new gears in, after testing them at BMRA for Jambo, I absolutely made the right choice going with the 4.88's. My fuel milage is less then desirable (11.8) but keep in mind I am running 35's with a 6in lift and about an extra 900lbs in/on the truck.

Never did get to ride with you at Jambo. Next time you and the golden triangle guys plan a trip(I dont need PTO for) I'll join and get in on the fun! My truck may not be as capable as yours but I'm good with riding along.

You can ride with me one day I'm in the area with the truck. Only differences in our setup is Warren is 6 inch on 35s and I'm 3 inch

Pick a good line and have good spotters. I trust these guys with my life and would never put them in a bad spot as they wouldn't me. From time to time we try stupid shit. A slick hill in hot springs come to mind

I know I've been waiting to hear. I dont comment often but I follow the Golden triangle thread to see if you guys are planning a trip. Would have loved to make the last trip to hot springs but the timing didnt work out with my schedule and already planned PTO use.

Isn't it this weekend? Aren't you coming down here? We can run over to Crosby and check out or if you want or have time.

Dynatrac ProRock 60 Rear Axle, that is important enough.
Getting 4.56 in the new rear end and will probably go up to 35s, but don't know if I will change the lift of just cut a crap ton of stuff.

Pretty sure 4.88 would be a little more than I need.

Can't remember but did you do front locker as well?

Ya I'll be there this Friday but I meant Colorado
If you plan on doing bumpers and winch go 4.88, the power is night and day. Just cut, it's not bad I did it in 2-3 hours

For those of you that ran 35's on stock gearing at first...how was it as far as difference in shifting (for auto) and power?

You have no power and pulling a trailer sucks. It hunts in gears at highway speeds. I have a base and I think Warren had taller gears so it may not have been that bad. I hated driving far like when we would meet in hot springs that thing couldn't maintain speed

Thanks for the info. I was contemplating buying tires and then re-gearing down the road. Thinking I'll do it at the same time now:headbang:

Buy them so you can cut and actually appreciate the difference. What package is your truck?

I used mine two weekends ago. Front and rear with the 4.56 gears. It's effortless. It just walks up everything like it's no big deal.

I had some help from the GT guys. We try to always help each other when we can.

Jake's experience is slightly different from mine. I have a TRD OR so my stock gears were 3.73's. I ran 35's on those for 2 years and really didn't seem to notice much of a difference besides the added stopping distance and the correction needed on the speedo. I will admit though, once I did upgrade, it was a huge improvement over stock gears with 35's.
