mattress is comfortable, it's setup with two, one to raise the height from the frame and another for actually sleeping on. You could with the soft cover 55 series, but with the hardshell version it probably wouldn't close very well.

    Also:

Replaced the power steering pump that was bad this weekend. Last pump was whining and PS would have random dead spots when doing slow turns. Also I'd check the resi, 2nd gens also have the filter at the bottom. Mine was all clogged up, was a PITA to get clean as the resi housing doesn't come apart. @dirt designs sending me replacement heims for the bad one I have. Just hoping I can get my new power steering rack from Detroit Axle, I got the lifetime warranty from them on the replacement rack, but have been trying for months to get my core money refunded and now a replacement rack. More on that later.

Okay good. I searched for ever before I got that one looking for an upgrade but couldn't find any. Last I heard someone was going to make a kit for a 2nd gen tundra rack to fit but nothing has progressed with that, that I found at least.

    Yes
Solo Motorsports but it is not an over the counter kit, you have to get it done by them from what I heard.

@dirt designs Also has a add on for the OEM racks to help prevent crap from damaging the rack. Also has to be installed by them at this time.

Just to be sure I am understanding this. You saying there are two mattresses one a condensation mat(grid, waffle, open weave) and the other is your standard RTT mattress (2.5" HD foam) correct?

If that is the case and I am unable to add another mattress on top due to not being able to close, I may be back on the hunt for another hard shell roof top tent.

If GOFSR would get back to my latest round of questions, I'd be all set. Presume they were at expo.

    Appreciate the help!

    Steve

Apologies, I didn't see the mattress details listed underneath the specifications on the gofsr website. 3" hDD mattress with a HDD foam underlay. Curious at how this handles condensation? Foam flooring in my mind is a bad way to go to keep out condensation.

Not sure, I haven't had issue yet and I take it through the auto car wash. In regards to the tent closing issue, that is only with this model. The 55 has a soft cover that has tons of space. However I did have a king size comforter folded in the tent and it wasn't much of an issue. Just depends on how big of a mattress you plan to add.

What made you switch from the Tepui, and are you glad you made the switch? I have a Tepui, which is a great tent but mounted on a shell is a cast-iron-bitch trying to get the cover on without setting up scaffold...

Same issues, zippers kept jaming up, this setup uses buckles (I changed to) so setup is super fast.
