Hmmm....not sure if that's actually your truck, but the tire profile looks about right.

    WTF.

clear room around it then hammer on a socket that is a tight fit with a 1/2" drive then use a breaker bar. this is how you get those locking nuts off as well. :anonymous:

so coming home on Monday from ice house area pulling my boat and fully loaded with camping gear and 3 passengers, i had the brakes over heat due to being stuck behind a slow as RV. never experienced brake fade before that. that shit was scary as fuck. full brake and couldn't stop, luckily was slow enough to make that last sharp turn on ice house rd and pull over in the turn out.
Its time to upgrade the brakes, @jberry and a few other have done this can any of you chime in on how much better the kit is compared to stock.

I haven't run into brake fade issues with my stoptech BBK. And I just pulled my trailer and truck full of gear with 3 people and a dog down 88 with all the tourists and lookie-loos randomly slowing to 12 fucking miles an hour to point and stare at half frozen lakes. I faded the stockers with no trailer and just driving like an asshole.

    Check out the build
I have the Stoptech ST60's too. They are bad ass. I know brake fade and signs before brake fade from auto racing and so far I haven't felt that with these.

When I did the pad bedding when I got these I got them hot to the point my rotors turned blue and had no fade. That with stock fluid too.

They've also made me a lazy driver. On hills I tend to ride the brakes now instead of down shift.

Several clues that this was obviously not your wheel:
    1. Those aren't the 16" OR wheels you have.
    2. Your wheels are painted black.
    3. Black lines on the side of the pic from the bad crop job.
    4. FNG would have used a splitting maul instead of an axe. ;)
I would have tried the sand wedge. Maybe 9 iron depending on the wind direction. ;)

I have never had brake fade, even when I was starting to hit metal recently. But I use my gears a lot when my nose is pointing down.

if your smarter then a tweaker, then yes. but with the internet even dumb ass thefts have smart phones. I only know this as I need to remove them on my personal car and goggled how to remove locking lug nuts. That's when I realized what a waste those are. took only a few minutes to remove them with little effort.

with the 20 ft boat and all my gear and a cab full of people I now no what it feels like. let me tell you when it happens to you, you will not like it the feeling of not being able to stop. I was in the lowest gear I have but im on stock gears right now so that may have helped. its also possible the trailer brakes weren't working right. although they seemed to be working. my wife was freaky out when I said oh shit the brakes are over heated.
question if I would of turned off abs would it of helped stop if needed?. I almost tried it but was able to stop at the flat area after that turn.

I've had brake fade when I towed my friends Cressida. Pretty much right at the limit of tow capacity with that car, trailer, and other crap I had in the cab. Was down to 3rd with the brake pedal to the floor and still had nothing.

scary shit. when a 10 mhr turn ahead and your on a down grade. luckily I was only going about 20 and got it down to 15 before the turn but pedal stomped and even tried the pump a few times helped but still couldn't get below 15 until flat ground. glad it was there and not back up the hill in some steeper areas. could of been bad.
