Truck came with the factory all weather mats. It is a double cab- the back mats seem fine. How do the front husky mats compare to the factory all weather mats. The factory mats seem a little short up against the firewall and don't fully cover the carpet as well as the could there. Any input is appreciated.

I agree with you,the oem rear mat is nice. But the front oem doesn't give as much coverage as the Husky or Weather Tech brand. During the winter season here, it doesn't take much melted snow to slop over the back edge on acceleration. Plus the coverage against the tunnel is better on the aftermarket mats

Like yours, my truck came with the factory mats. I didn't want them and the price was adjusted accordingly. 2+ months later and I can see that at least the front mats won't work for the long haul. The front passenger side mat slides around when I have a passenger with "busy" feet. Both front mats are too shallow to hold very many boot-loads of melting snow.

I'll be ordering a pair of the Husky front mats before winter. The back mats may be just good enough, as I don't have many backseat passengers on my hunting trips. I'll make a decision about them after seeing how well they perform in winter conditions.

I got the carpet with mine and then ordered the Husky. They do go pretty far up under the pedals. I like them a lot and they fit perfect. Never been a fan on all weather mats, but these are nice.

I'd second the Weather Tech. I was looking as Husky but the reviews were inconsistent. Plus I found a coupon online and got 15% off.

Love my husky mats. During the summer it probably doesn't really matter which mats you have(unless you are in a really muddy area), but the huskey mats sure shine come winter with the snow/slush/water that accumulates on the mats.

ChukarBob, I did a mod I saw here in the forums that uses VW floor mat retainers to secure the passenger side mat, same as the driver's side. I can't find the exact post, but I got the parts at ECStuning.com. You can probably get them at any VW dealer, parts# 3D0061796B41 & 3D0061795B41. Works great, the mat doesn't shift all around anymore when people get in & out

+1 on the Husky's. I replaced the back seat mats from OEM as well. They are stiffer and cover up over the door steps in both the front and back. Great for muddy kids/dogs.

Based on this forum I bought the huskies, they are pricey but pretty nice, no complaints.

I have the Husky Weather Beaters and and love them. My dad has the Weather Tech's and they're not holding up very well at all and losing shape.
I got a smoking deal on mine to from AutoAnything.com, I think i paid $140 OTD for the front and back (they had a 20% off code and no taxes)

I have the Husky X-acts all around and I am very glad I got them. I was really frustrated with the stock ones (1st iteration). The fronts have saved the carpet a bunch of times, and I am glad I got the rears because it went through a 3 day-5 passenger ski trip. I don't know which stock rear mat you have, but mine was terrible in comparison to the husky.

I do agree with cblow above, that it was a little greasy or something at first...but that seems to have gotten better. Maybe it is a release agent from part of the manufacturing process, now that I think about it--which a little soap and water should take care of. Or maybe I have gotten used to it? I'll need to pay close attention next time and see :D
