That's how I got my job. Sat down with the interviewer. He asked my name. I spit in my hand, reached under the desk and gave him a handy.

    YOU'RE HIRED!

Never said hello or even made eye contact.

10 seems excessive but it functioned properly after a rezero. Just seems odd.

So we are still fighting with Verizon. They refuse to work with us, even though we have been customer's for over 15 years. They say the price for us is $238 for unlimited. The $140 is for new contracts and that doesn't include device fees. My wife is wanting to bail and go T-Mobile... I don't really want to. I know the service will be subpar, especially out of town, where it's most important imo.

Price for both of us, on an unlimited plan through T-Mobile will run us 150, keeping our phones, numbers, etc. If she bails, and I stay, my plan is 115 for mine alone.. Then plus hers. Obviously bundling will yield the cheapest payment.. but I really don't want to switch.

This all came about because of the price. My wife doesn't want to pay that much, and we do need to increase our data plan since we go over currently. She likes to save money anywhere possible, but some things I'm willing to pay extra for.. good phone service is one of them.

    I'm in a pickle..

Get a prepaid T-mobile phone. Test it out. Take it up to your cabin and other places you go normally. Either, it will work and you can switch with confidence, or you can show her that it doesn't work and that paying extra is worth it.

Also, how long do you have to be away from verizon to switch back and get the new costumer price?

Sometimes the only way is to 'vote with your wallet'. It's ridiculous for VZ to not work with you, I would switch to Tmobile just on principle. The coverage won't be 100% comparable, but I know quite a bit of people with TM that are plenty happy with it that travel to the same spots I do. Worst case scenario, you keep TM for about 6 months and around black friday you can re-visit the issue when the phone companies give out the best deals. Over those 6 months you would be saving ~$600

    Happy Birthday @TRON

Ummmm..... please wash your hands before driving my truck!!!!

After Alison Passed, I had to leave Verizon as it was in her name, new phones, lost her 35% discount, and my phone was buggy. I switched to AT&T which is weak, but about $25 a month cheaper, plus I got a G2 watch in the bundle. For the first few months the lesser service was driving me crazy. HOWEVER, I have adjusted nicely, and am just not that hung up on my phone anymore. I am no longer it's slave!!!

Hmmmm good idea. Might do that.

That's another good question. Wonder if that's possible. I'm sure there is a time period you have to wait, at the least. I bet they just look to see if you've been a customer before and say No though too.

I believe it covers our device buy outs. That's obviously a big factor too.

That's the thing, I think all this came about because when she took her new job, the building doesn't have WiFi, nor does she even have the time to really use her phone. Her complaint is that we are paying a lot, still going over (I believe it's due to her job and our last couple camp trips, me streaming) and not being able to use her phone. This has never been an issue before. One time... And she freaks. Lol.

I think once she starts her new job, has WiFi, and I am more cautious on data.. we'll be good.

As long as you aren't going with Sprint it can't be that bad. I'm sitting at work on break in scottsdale and I can't hardly even load tw.

Yeah I can see why she thinks that it is going to be just as good cause of all the commercials and such but as the others have said it's not true with our lifestyle. Maybe if she stayed in phx all the time but shevwill notice a difference in the service. Same reason you bought a Springfield and not a hi point as your conceal carry protection device. Can you go over to t Mobil to try it out for 2 months see she doesn't like it then come back to Verizon as a new customer at the lower rate?

these are both very valid points and agree 100%. I actually hate when we have service camping... i dont want to be on phones. BUT, then there will be that one time where we need service for help or something, and I am NOT willing to risk that. I've always been a "better to have it and not need it" type guy.

    tough decision..

haha.. see, that would be so frustrating.

exactly.. and IDK, i doubt they would do that. I might just say "Go get your T-Mobile then".. and do a comparison. a real word comparison for a few months, camping, driving, in city, etc.

I was on my sisters plan for a while. There were 4 of us on it and we were paying about what you pay for 2. Verizon is dicking you around. I know your work has wifi. I was on it when I was there. That is unless they changed things since I was there. I don't know if the new company has a discount, but I would check. Click the link and type in your work email address. I am getting a 17% discount because I drive for Lyft. Well, I did drive it one time and now I am getting a discount on Verizon. Also have Lyd put in her work email address and see what she gets for a discount. https://www.verizonwireless.com/discount-program/#

If all else fails, call and talk to the customer retention team. I do this with my grandma to get her the best rates with Directv all the time and I have done that for other things before. See what they can do. I know Verizon is the best, but you are paying way too much without unlimited data.

Yeah let her go get it. But younger usually out with one of us that will have service you could use a phone. Or if she goes and gets her plan you can step down your data on yours cause you can control just yourself

I went to Physical Therapy today and was finally started with resistance (after a re-injury 2 weeks ago). I have the OK to do light wrenching and very light lifting as long as I pay attention to the pain levels.

So, with that said, I'd like to get re-involved with TW life. I'm currently hanging with a chick who's willing to do anything with me and doesn't really care if I take off on my own either. We both respect each other's alone time. I have lots of mods I need to get caught up on with the Tacoma, a few on the LandCruiser, gotta find a tranny or tranny person to figure out what's wrong with my street legal rail (no reverse), and need new bearings on the front wheel of the other rail (they are completely gone!). Both my trucks are capable and ready to play now, so let me know if something is coming up. I want to get out doing things as much as possible. Camping, wheeling, meetups, safety meetings, mod days, whatever!
