My dad only wanted something with white letters for his 3rd set of tires so he ended up with some Hankook Dynapro ATM with white letters out

It eats at my soul that I don't have white lettered tires on my truck right now.

Lame side note...I totally bought those sneakers I posted about earlier this week. 1994 Mike is giddy with joy.

 

White letters out, for some reason make me feel good...... especially when you see the truck s l o w l y rolling by. It's like they're tumbling or something. I know, I'm sick

Oh and, I got those headlights, they should be here in a few days. I need to find an HID kit for them now and I'll be all set.

Got my summer Chippewa's back from a fresh resole today! After five summers of hiking and motorcycles the original tread was totally gone and the left boot was a full 1/8 shorter than the right.
Should grip much better now.


The cobbler even insisted on polishing them up for me before he gave them back.

 

If it's not one thing it's another. I just got my alignment cams resolved a week and a half ago and then driving home from work today and I thought my brakes felt a little bit different. I got home and changed for the gym headed out and the first stop the pedal was really mushy, it got better after a couple of stops but I noticed the same thing on the way home. Not seeing any leaks and the master cylinder has plenty of fluid. None of the brakes has ever been opened and I still have plenty of pad left all around.

Thoughts?

 

Check the fluid levels, bleed them out and see if that solves it. Start simple.

 

My transmission started learning bad things. I've been driving a little more spiritedly over the past few weeks because I have done so much back and forth from home to town and work. Since I've settled back down I noticed it's been procrastinating going into overdrive and it was infuriating.

Disconnected the battery for a half hour or so and just went for a drive. Much better. Checked the fluid for good measure and it still looks almost new from my change at 100k.

My Subarus used to do stuff like that all the time and hitting the "reset transmission learning memory" button in FreeSSM always solved it. First time the Tacoma has done it though.

 

Mine has been a little like that ever since I've had it. First press is a little mushy, second one is better. I've bled brakes, checked adjustment of the rears, etc. with no change. Always assumed it was a Tacoma thing. Be interested if you find something causing it.

 

That happened to me on my first gen Tacoma. Pedal would feel mushy. Nothing was leaking. Rear brakes were adjusted. Etc. turned out to be a leaky brake master cylinder. The o ring inside on the spool was letting brake fluid leak by. Thus giving the mushy pedal. If I kept pressure on the pedal it would slowly creep toward the floor.

 

My truck does that too.. I just drive like a grandpa for a couple days and it goes back to normal

 

Typically a mushy pedal (as long as there isn't air in the lines) is a master cylinder issue.

 

Your front pads were getting worn, might need to adjust the rear shoes some?

 

Kind of random.. But has anyone ever upgraded the inverter built into our trucks?

 

Mine may learn the same habits again. I think it's more the terrain than my driving now that I think about it. I go over two mountains on my way to work, and much of the drive is steep so it can't really maintain speed in overdrive and it'll go back to 4th pretty quickly.

 

Morning guys, kind of an SOS, but does anyone know the fastest way to get extended brake lines for my 06? Just blew a front last night, currently have no brakes...
