Pretty sure the best way to reduce greenhouse gasses is exactly that. Wipe out huge portions of the population.
I think if we stop producing hydrocarbons or sending them to countries that need them we could easily wipe out a good 5-6 billion people quickly. Problem solved.

Isn't moving a supertanker into port basically tug and barge only bigger?

No tug and barge hook together making a type of ship with no tug boats no longer hooked to it. The Aframax tankers will be hard lined to multiple tug boats separate from the tanker in case of issues during transport out to the safe release point of Buoy Juliet.

Correct. Right after it left course by a huge amount without any additional tugboats to assist and possibly an asleep captain.
That's why there is so many safeguards in place for the KM shipments.

The point I was making is not how the incident started but how it took the Feds a month to not clean it up and that was lighter fuel oil and not dilbit which sinks

Agreed. That's ridiculous for sure. If that had been a large oil producer who did that though it would have been cleaned up asap as they agree to it and they would be on the hook for the clean up.
These mom and pop operations who leave it with the government are baloney.
In all fact anyone who uses a decent size boat and crashes it should be held fully liable for the spill or maybe we should get rid of all the boats in the ocean cause they might spill at anytime.
As I mentioned before let's start with the Walmart shipments.

Yup, humans have never hurt any eco systems... except maybe the oceans. And every other eco system we have ever been close too.

Like every nuke plant ever made. That's right, they still have not cleaned up their messes, but give it a few million years and it will take care of itself. (not oceananic messes though I suppose, if you don't count Fukashima, the greatest dissaster of all time). Pull your head out of the sand.

Facebook is dead. I have two teenage kids, living in the city, and neither of them, or many of their friends, give a second thought to FB. The only people still signing up for new FB accounts are grandmothers with their first internet connection, and Add Agencies. I would guess the number of people going 'dark' on FB is acccelerating daily. Zuckerberg's dream appears to be over, and good riddance. Maybe we can all return to living a little more "in the moment", without considering sharing it on some corporate website......my two bits.......now back to Tacomas.

It was pretty crazy! I was out at a pub and decided to have a pint and wait for it to blow over. Lots of branches down on the hike home.
