I'm new to wheeling in groups, so I try to carry stuff people may not have. Like welding rod and cheap welding goggles. So someone who knows how to weld can glue shit back together. Or those waffle boards I still need to get for bridging. You guys have the rest of the stuff and I'm working on getting my own. That doesn't mean I go ill-equipped.

I still need cv's, inner and outer tie rods, sat phone, wheel bearing, driveshaft, etc.

As far as going to remote places alone, I've been lucky. Many situations that could have gotten ugly. I bring lots of water, food, tools, and am willing to drink my piss. Thanks to "instalanders", these remote places are crawling with rigs.

Those of you with a fridge in an open bed...

Did you do anything to water/weather proof the plugs?

Planning to hardwire a 12v into the bed similar to this:


Wondering if any further weatherproofing would be needed going into the female end of the connector, or even into the fridge itself. Seems like it would be a good spot for some water and mud to work its way in and create a short.

....Or you can tell me I'm over-thinking it, that would work too.
