Ouch. That sucks. Single axle cruising at a good speed I assume.
Congrats on the new truck. Make sure your antenna is tight and don't take it through automatic car washes.

    Like, so many.
That's a big price jump from the Taco, yeah? Glad you and your pup are ok. It could have been much worse.

Not really. You can get a 4WD FX4 XLT list price at a lot of dealers right now for 43K...that's before negotiations. If you know how to work a deal you can get plenty more off from there. GM, RAM and Ford will deal.

Thank god. Makes me so cautious having my pup in the truck at all!

Glad you and the dog are doing fine. Nice new truck. I can understand the hesitation to get back into the Tacoma after something like that.

You can now get TPMS for a trailer. The kit I have let's you know if there is even a slight decrease in pressure by an alarm instantly. Tires don't blow out (unless you hit something large on the road). They will slowly loose pressure from a puncture. As the heat builds in the tire the sidewall will fail and the tire "blows out".

Not as much as you'd expect. Shook out to just over 2k total difference between the two trucks OTD, obviously ford being the higher of the two.

Most trailer tires are rated far less than 65 mph. Most people go faster or way faster than 65 mph. At high speed they get hot and go "boom".

Glad you and doggie are ok. I'm always amazed how safe these Tacos are, NHTSA safety ratings are conducted in a lab not in real life dynamics, which is were auto safety engineers really learn.

It's always a good idea to check those trailer tires for dry rot and proper load inflation.
I can't believe how many ppl simply ignore them and even the safety chains. Glad you had yours on.

Definitely would not have traded my Taco though, I'd just would have brought it back to my garage and buffed it all out!

My trailer TPMS also reads tire temps. Yes I should have mention overloading a tire and incorect tire pressure will overheat the tire and the sidewall will usually fail.

    That's a handsome looking truck!
Which engine/transmission combo does your F150 have?
I would have got a F150 if they offered 6MT when I was shopping.
