Why is that?

 

Da Revolvers are simple machines, but difficult to control, greater recoil, limited round count, and slow to reload are some reasons. Auto loaders hold more ammo, are easier to reload, have less felt recoil, hence easier to control.

 

All true, but all irrelevant for the intended purpose of this weapon.

She needs the simplest way to protect herself possible. She does not like my autoloaders. She doesn't like operating a stiff slide. She doesn't like the violence of the slide slamming shut to load it. She doesn't like how they "look" complicated. She had no interest in familiarizing herself with the gun and getting over her fears.

So auto is out.

And I don't want her to forget the set the hammer in the case of an emergency.

Thus, DA revolver.

At least that's my logic.

 

Let her shoot Zachk's Shield in pussy 9mm. She might like it.

 

Give me 30 minutes at the firing range with her and I can change that.

If I'm not carrying my Ruger SR40, I have my Taurus 85 .38

After about 10 shots, you start to feel it in the webbing between thumb and index finger. But I didn't buy it, or do I carry it, for shooting sideways with a 30 round extendo clipazine.
It's accurate as fuck for a $250 pistol! Comfortable and positive grip. Easy carry in an Alien Gear IWB holster, it was on me almost all of LBL

Double action revolvers can be a very easy beast to tame. In my opinion they are the best option for most female carry. Under a stressful situation most men will not be able to clear a malfunction in a semi auto. Do you want to put you significant other in that position? Will she be able to remember how to clear a stove pipe, squib load, or ftf all while some is assaulting her? When I was a firearm instructor I recommended many people to small da revolvers. Hornady even makes a great reduced recoil 38spl load.

You all are overthinking the wife gun thing.

Is she comfortable carrying or firing it is all that matters.

Find a range that does rentals and take her on a date so she can try an assortment of brands, calibers, etc.

5 or 6 shots should be enough in a situation. If not, you're likely fucked anyway. Don't need 15+1 capacity.

The one time I "used" mine, just letting the handle show out of my jacket was enough to send him running and apologizing.

 

Now the wait begins: Ordered both the front bumper with full hoops, as well as the rear high clearance bumper.

Contributing factor to my decision for this brand is partially my satisfaction with the skid plates I purchased from them back in the winter. Their customer service is far and above any I've experienced. Plus, they're a fairly new brand, so not many people have them and I like to be different.
