just was in Lassen this weekend. Areas around Almanor are cleared and no snow to report. But you still cannot drive through Lassen National Park because of the snow. The mountain is still covered in snow. But surrounding roads and fire roads were all clear.

I think we made it somewhere around 7 thousand? Silver Fork Road, up Mormon Immigrant, El Dorado National Forest.
I figured I should try and drive through the middle of the field ... it didn't work.

I heard the snow level was about 6000'. The park road probably won't be open until late June. They got about 20' this winter.

Yeah it was definitely a decent winter. Was my first trip up to our Chester cabin this year. Glad to see it was all clear around it though.

Holy shit. Were you the kind gentleman that pulled my brother's Tahoe out of the snow on MET? Thanks again for that if you were. Saved me the work of having to get behind him and pull him out. Lol. I didn't see many folks go past where we all were.... still pretty snowy up that way.

HEYYY! Yeah that was me haha. We made it about 5 more snow drifts up until the road got steeper and the snow got too deep.

That's whats up! Yeah we got to that spot where my brother got stuck, and we were all like; "nopeeeeeee. Time to head back down." haha. I frequent that area often, whether its going up to shoot and mess around, or to hit some trails. Let me know if you want to convoy up that way another time.

Yeah we went back down and ran a couple fire road trails. Hell yeah man, I'll try and let you know. Just starting to find the fun stuff out in the area. I have built a hand full of mountain bike trails up there but need to find more fun 4x4 stuff.

Dude that's awesome. I have done some minor mountain biking up that way, but nothing crazy. Honestly anything is fun up off MET and the surrounding area... Just nice to be somewhere and having little to no people around bothering others. There's plenty of 4x4 stuff up that way too, and tons of guys on here that go up almost every weekend to hit some trails it seems like.

Couple of pics from Usal Beach and area from yesterday. There's a sweet water crossing at Usal Beach, no pics though, I was by myself.

I'm thinking of heading up to either Gold Lake trail or Poker Flat (both near Downieville) this Saturday (6/3) around noon if anyone wants to join in. Going to get my wife her prized Bloody Mary at Burgee Dave's before hand, haha.

Took a short side trip to Red Hills on my way home from Oakdale today. Followed S. Serpentine Loop road for a ways but turned around at the first opportunity as it was very tight and I didn't want to have to explain to my wife the pinstripes on a new truck.

Last time I was out there the north loop met the south loop. I don't remember it being overgrown though. Wet winter might have contributed to that.

yeah, the sage brush left me just an inch or two to spare in many spots.

Going to head to the Hull Creek area tomorrow.
