I have been reading this but keeping my mouth shut. I go through this every single time I need body work done on my vehicle. I do my own body work, I’m currently restoring a vehicle, and I know how things are supposed to be done CORRECTLY. However, an insurance company will not pay me to fix a vehicle, so I always have to trust a body shop to fix my vehicle; it gets hacked every single time. Your truck was fixed the cheapest way possible, I would have assumed that the second I heard the story about how the tech was the one that backed your truck into something. I would have called my insurance company and had them making phone calls. I would have taken my truck and went to the most expensive body shop around and got an estimate. (You have the right to chose who fixes your vehicle.) The process would have taken longer; you would have completely burnt your bridge with your local Toyota Dealer (sounds like they are horrible anyways, no loss). However, you would have gone to a shop that wasn’t trying to cut corners, and your vehicle would have been fixed correctly.
With that being said, here is what you do now. STOP, stop thinking about everything else, and stop being upset. Hop in your truck and drive to a body shop, get an estimate for repairing your dealers screw ups. Call your insurance company and explain the situation to them. (That is what you have insurance for) While you are at the body shop talk to the manager and get advice from him about the best way to fix the situation, they deal with things like this all the time they know. Burn your bridge with the dealership they cut corners and apparently do not care about their reputation, the best way for them to fix the situation is to mend things with you. You have a post on a website that is seen nationwide bashing them, I live in northeastern CT and I now know this dealership sucks, you have the upper hand. I am a business Major I have dealt with many businesses and know how they work; I guarantee your truck will be getting fixed properly! I'll help you out, TOYOTA OF DALLAS IS HORRIBLE AT BODY WORK. I COULD PISS A BETTER PAINT JOB THAN THEM FROM MY HOUSE IN CT! Best of luck man!

    Wow,

First let me say I incorrectly spoke in the last thread on this subject that this company had a good BBB rating. Turns out I was thinking of another dealership. This dealer actually has a rating of 'F' from the BBB and if you read the rating it is insane what some of the BBB issues are.

I don't understand why this place is still in business. I think they should get some major bad press from this stunt. I suggest that everyone who cares about their Toyota speak up to Toyota corporate that they should be doing something to prevent dealerships like this from selling their product. It brings a bad name to Toyota. Especially now with the other issues they are having maybe they'll listen now.

As far as those that are saying they would buy parts from their online parts store I was one of them in the last thread. I have high respects for Chris who runs that shop but now after this I wouldn't want any more money going to the guy that owns this dealership. Chris and Phil should probably be actively looking for another dealership where they can run their online business under someone who has some decency and respect.

To the OP definitely call your insurance company. Explain what happened and see if they can fix the vehicle correctly for you without any cost to you. If so then take it to the best body shop in town and have the truck fixed the correct way. Based on this dealerships rating with the BBB I would highly doubt they would ever pay your insurance a dime. But if your insurance company is large it could get them to stop sending them business. Frankly they don't deserve any business based on the way they treat people and it is apparent not just from your interactions but also the ratings they receive from BBB.

Oh and BTW this is the first time I have ever looked up a company that had such a bad rep with BBB.

Here's the link for the rest of us. I can see why they have an F.

    :p

Here's some reasons why it gets an F:
    Reasons for this rating include:
    30 complaints filed against business
Failure to respond to 2 complaints filed against business.
    Advertising issue(s) found by BBB.

I know I was shocked when I read it. INSANE for this company to be in business. If you are thinking of doing business with their online parts store think again. What happens if a deal goes sour? Look who Chris' manager is. Same guy who told the OP to take his truck and leave.

hey man i feel for you, i called dallas and they said it is all about the customer and that they would never let anything leave there shop with "low quality" work, and the service tech said that they have yet to have an accident with a customers vehicle while they have possession.
just letting you know that they are not upfront...

    bump for a good guy

Just for S and G's I checked out my local Toyota dealer who did my 1st gen frame replacement and they have a B+. Checked other toyota dealers all around my area and they are all A or B rated. Personally, especially looking at what's going on with Toyota right now, I think if they aren't at least a B- rating they aren't doing things right. I can't imagine how bad these Dallas people must be to have an F!

So they are outright lying to get business. Even their parts manager said it is difficult to maneuver the shop area because of the posts. So they had to have had more than this accident.

This needs to be on the news. If the OP doesn't get the news attention perhaps he could post the contact info for the news station where he lives and people from here can start bombarding them with emails until it makes the local news. People who do business at ToD need to know to go somewhere else.

I don't know Toyota's corporate email but maybe the OP has it.

I did the same thing...Looked up the three dealers I've worked with on stuff with my Taco- They all had VASTLY better records....All B+/A-.

The one thing I noticed is this dealership has an issue with reporting of complaints that get "AdmiN Closed" due to insufficient evidence....Seems to me that is an...odd....indicator. Either they know they are close to the line and they play to keep them selves clean...or lots of miscommunication.
