It could be worse; around here we measure distances in time, not miles.

 

That's usually how I do it

 

Taunton and Rehobeth are near, 24, 495, and you can take 44 to get on 95.

 

We have to measure in time also... for example, I live 25 miles from where I work but it's going to take you 1 - 2 hours to get there depending on what time of day it is.

Exactly, we have the same definition just vastly different interpretations.

Alright guys I have a question, I guess aimed at those more mechanically inclined. I'm going wheeling this weekend but don't have the proper size spare (I need one to go wheeling per rules of the group). How bad is it if I put on a tire of a different make to get myself off the trail (in the case that I need to put the spare on). I would patch the damaged tire to get myself back home, so I wouldnt go highway speeds with one tire different than the one on the other side of the axle.

I think I know the answer, but I really wanna go wheeling and can't afford to replace the spare with a perfect match at the moment so under the specific conditions of only going slow speeds on a trail, how bad is it to have 1 tire with a different tread pattern/depth?

 

How big is the size difference between the tires?

 

Well Im running 265/75/16 right now, with my current spare being a 265/70/16.

I would switch the spare to 265/75/16 to match the other four, but there would be a difference in weight and a small difference in diameter due to different treads. I have duratracs as my main tires but the replaced would be a michelin or whatever

 

I wouldn't worry too much about it. The problems happen when the difference is 10% or greater.
