Do you have room for a Fernco flexible coupling?

 

The leak is on the downhill side joint of that elbow. I'll look into socket saver this morning, I've never heard of that.

There is room for one but I don't know how I would get one on there. Would I have to cut the pipe to get it on?

That is pretty slick. I might end up going that route, only concerns at this point is whether I can fit a drill with the attachment between those 2 joints, and how much flex there is for me to get a new section of pipe between them.

Now that I look at it again I may be able to make a cut between the elbow and flange coming through the floor, hit that flange with the socket saver and replace the joint.

 

I'd do it right and pull toilet and repipe it since you have access to it underneath. But don't use a rubber fern Co cheap ass coupling. Get a 4 banded mission coupling and torque it down per manufacturer recommendation stamped on it.

Which is better, Titebond III or Elmer's Woodglue MAX?

 

i don't know which is better but FWIW I use Titebond 3 all the time and never had an issue plus it has a decent open time

 

Today we switched gears a bit and milled our exterior door and window trim stock

Tops and bottoms profile on the left , sides profile on the right

The trims will get a natural finish so they were milled from tight grain clear western red cedar 2x4




There's probably a couple hundred bucks worth of kindling there , literally , haha

There is always next years kindle !I have tons of plants, but they are ripping up about twenty decorative shrubs and trees at work tomorrow. I already have the trailer hooked to the truck I always hate to see things go to waste...especially plants or trees. I am sure you have a lot of cut offs though.

What do the kerf cuts provide? Stress relief (guessing)?

And are Shants required...other thread ref nonsense.

 

They act as crack controls

They get grouted and then ground flush when the floor is ground and polished

 

How deep are the cuts?

 

About 1"

 

Standard depth of cut here is 1/4 of the overall slab depth. We usually cut the slab the day after a pour.
