Jumped on the Chinese AC knob craze.

 

Hahah I know exactly what you are saying. Me and my bud used a floor jack, and put the drill on the jack then used it to apply the pressure for the drill very carefully.

This was after we both could not hold the drill anymore, those holes near the rear that go through 2 layers of metal are no funnsies.

 

I've heard a lot of people gripe about that. I did mine and had a couple of nice, sharp, Ti coated bits that went through like it was butter. Started with a small pilot hole and stepped it up twice I think, to the final diameter.

 

I am sure it was the final bit we used, the pilot holes went no problem.

Have any of you replaced rotors and pads? How long of a job is it? Just trying to gauge how much time I need to set aside.

Less than an hour.

 

I paid a local TW mechanic to do mine and it took him all of 15 minutes. Looked pretty straightforward.

 

I found a pretty slick cap on CL - off a 1984 Chevy S10, but "fits" my RC!



It isn't a perfect fit width wise, but length overall is about spot on.



Since there's a little lip it took some problem solving. Attached angled aluminum bar to the bed tracks to extend the bedrail out and bolted that directly to the cap. Sketchy er nah?
