Did you even read my original post? I have to drive very restrained and with extra attention to the throttle pedal to achieve 20mpg. I haven't gotten 20mpg since I made that post.

If I drive 75mpg, which is the defacto speed that everyone drives, my milieage drops off to 15-16mpg. I mentioned that in my original post. Maybe at night time I can get 22mpg, but during the day I will just be a nuisance to everyone.

I don't really care if he lied about how good it was or how bad it is. He can't keep his stories straight so he has zero credibility.

Hey man, you let others decide way too much for you. You are not willing to drive a certain speed cause others are going faster. You are afraid your truck is going to blow up, because every other post here on TW is negative. But what I don't get, you wont drive at a certain speed because you don't want to be a nuisance, but yet you seem to be making contradicting post that seem to be a nuisance.

People can't change their minds? Are you that caught up on trying to discredit him only because you don't like his opinion?

I have a 16 TRD MT also. The thing is a complete slug unless you rev the engine. All the power sitting in the upper RPM range makes the truck feel like a 4cyl in everyday driving. Thank god I have MT, I think it helps having the steeper axle ratio and more control over the engine speed. The truck will fly if you rev the crap out of it, it just seems taxing to run it like that.

That being said, my wife drives an F150 with an ecoboost 3.5. The truck makes power that just feels effortless, and it MPG's are only .5-1mpg worse than the Taco.

If I didn't have a Super Duty already I wouldn't have bought the Taco. The F150 is priced close enough to the Taco to make the purchase worth it in my opinion. So much more space, more power, more payload, more brakes, more towing. If offroad is your focus, Taco wins.

Well obviously if you are able to achieve 22mpg with your truck then there is nothing wrong with it. Driving 75+ mph in an off road oriented brick of a vehicle is going to result in poor gas mileage. And to answer your question of course I read your first post and I also read the post of another member quoting you as saying getting 20+ mpg.

isn't the F150 a full size? It should have more payload, more space, more towing yada yada yada. Apples and grapes here.

Yep, which is why I bought the Taco. I have BOTH a Super Duty and a Taco so I didn't need a full size. If people are weighing the options based on price, one might consider the F150.

Well I've seen at least a few guys trade their turds in for F150s. I may go test drive one today for the Hell of It! I am holding out for the ranger though

It's not changing his mind it's changing the facts of his experience with the truck. I don't really care what his opinion is about his vehicle.

fair enough, it just drives me bonkers when folks compare the taco to full-size. I bought the taco cause its not a full size, oh and one of the few MT still available.

Calling BS as for the same price point. A 5.5' bed 4 door Ford 150 XL 4x4 starts over $38000. And the least expensive 4dr 4x4 LT is near me is $42900. $10000 difference  NOT the same price point or even close. Of course my taco has a MT :burnrubber:

I stopped reading when the OP was called out for posting good MPG, then said that was driving way below speed limit and keeping the RPM's low so he's cruising at 1500...said that was "Stressful."

Unless I'm in some sort of hurry or in a definitive "speed" mood, I keep the RPM's as low as possible. Not sure why cruising at lower RPM's is stressful.
