    I only really just drive to work, cant really break much with a solid axle on pavement.

    Kings on factory setting, guess it's like 2.5"? Been meaning to lower them but I want to get on 285s on my next set of tires

    you can tear CVs just driving on the road if the fins are touching, which is probably whats happening.

    wasn't meant for what? Boot slide mod should be exactly what you need, do you have the diff drop in? The only problem with the boot slide mod is that the boot sits in a channel so you'd have to either pack it with rtv or silicone to take up the gap and clamp as tight as possible about an inch down the shaft or cut the old boot up and leave the inner clamp behind the new boot to keep it from sliding down.
