    Roof Cargo Net

    Next up was additional storage for lightweight items. I think I'll be running out of space in the truck so I need to be creative to store items. This'll work great for hats, the bug netting and other lightweight items.

    Items used:
    Bell Cargo Net
    Tent poles
    Zip ties

    I first wrapped the two rear grab handles with a rubber material I have so that the zip ties dont eat away at the plastic. When I get a chance, I'll add some screw clamps. I had tent poles that were the perfect width of the cargo net. I used the knobs that came with the net and screwed them into the ends of the poles. I wove the poles through the last part of the net and secured them to the knobs. Then zip tied the poles to the grab handles. On the drivers side, I rolled it up until it was tight enough and secured it. I drilled holes in the rear things on the roof panel so I could zip tie the back of the net. I put a few hats up there and it seems to work well, if I want to add tension I can just cut the zip ties and roll it up more or I can loop the ends around the knob to tighten up the main bungees.

    The tent poles at the angle are perfect since they rest on the headliner so it doesn't swing around at all.

    I bought a second one that I am planning on using in the topper. The Maxtrax mounts are almost made to move them to the roof rack.

    Cant forget the new documentary camera!

    I tried to follow the fedex man but it was on beginner mode that has a limited range. That has been fixed.



    I'm looking forward to getting some neat shots with this and using the active track and follow me modes.

    I did this in mine too, great solution for overhead lightweight storage.

    I have tracks on the inside of the roof so it shouldn't be too difficult inside the topper other than i want it to only be along the drivers side since the passenger side has the water heater.

    The corner broke off when they were used in snow...there was a rock underneath the snow that it apparently sat on at a weird angle or something. The rest of the end broke off at some point since it was already cracked. Which is why I have 2.9... they sent me a replacement.

    I had the shittybilt before, which are not worth the money other than as wall art. Yes these are great and have been well used.

    Not only if you are stuck, or need traction, or need to build a bridge by stacking two of them, but for small things like getting traction for a recovery.

    Even though we had 3 winched rigs tied up to the Tacoma that was off the trail above tree line above guenella we could only pull him back and forth and weren't making any progress since we didn't have enough angle. Used the Maxtrax as traction to keep him from sliding back down while we winched and got him back on the trail. We tried without them for a while before they finally tried my idea of using them to give him traction.
