I've been lurking for a while, was thinking my car would last longer, but it's going to cost too much so I can get my Tacoma now! I'm in metro boston and I'll be asking questions, etc soon! Thanks for a great forum! I'm looking at getting a 2009-2010 access cab 4x4, 5speed 4cyl or 6speed V6. I've got to go out looking. This will be a commuter truck for the next year until I get out of grad school, then it's my camping/hiking/climbing/fishing buddy.

Go with the v6 6 speed, I love mine. Takes you up mountains faster than a 4 banger :D

    Oh and welcome from Colorado.

    welcome :)

i vote for the V6, but the 6-speed manuals are rare.

    EDIT:
ohh... and i recommend the off-road over the sport :)

I bought an airgun a few years ago when I got out of college and spent a few years tearing them apart and modding!

I'm going to fight it, but I'm sure it will start with just a little mudflap trimming here and a skid plate there, a little lift and then...you guys know the rest!

I've also made the decision to buy a Tacoma. I live in Northern California and there's lots of them out here. I'd like to get the DC Off Road 4X4...Not many of those on lots and dealers don't want to take much off. I've gone online and no one wants to go below $1500 off sticker. I'm reading about others getting better deals, granted it's in different parts of the country. Any suggestions? I'm kind of surprised that they're not more hungry to deal given that sales for Toyota have slowed. I know the Tacoma is still selling though.
