Why?

A simple question and perhaps there is a simple answer. Why doesn't Toyota offer a DCLB with M/T?

Obviously they don't think it's cost effective.

 

Me too. I purchased a DCLB a few weeks ago (has not arrived and I could change my order) and I've been agonizing over getting a DCSB instead purely for the M/T.

Everything about the DCLB is perfect except the lack of M/T !!!!

 

That question has been asked since 2005.

I know a few people, myself included who would have preferred to get a manual with the longbox.

 

Yeah! They think people actually like DCSBs cause they sell the best but it's mainly people that just want MT. Who wouldn't opt for a DCLB OR with MT!?

 

A midsize truck already has a smaller bed. a 5ft box is just too small.

 

Baby seats, young kids, and families. Too much work shifting a stick and pushing in a clutch.

 

Americans dont even get the Access cab with M/T right? Kinda silly, but we didnt get DCSB A/T until 2017 models. It still pisses me off.

 

For the rest of us it is second nature to shift gears manually.

 

You can get a TRD ACLB with M/T. it's only the DC that gets screwed.

 

I can talk on the cell, eat fast food, and shift gears without thinking twice. It's second nature!....not that I would do that...it's unsafe.

 

Ya, I did it too, before kids. Now I'm just lazy! . But now need 4 full doors and the extra space. DCLB in Limited is the bomb in Canada. Best of both worlds, IMO.

 

Yes, I bet you leave your cell phone at home and never have food in your Truck.
