Not looking to get in a debate regarding hi-lift jacks Vs. floor jacks...A floor jack is all I have.

How and where do you store 2.5 ton aluminum floor jacks while off roading?

    THANKS!

Not gonna be too many people with mounted floor jacks. You might see some chase or desert trucks with em with custom cages/racks though.

In all seriousness i have never heard of anyone bringing a floor jack to a wheeling trip. If it was all I had and didnt want to spend the 60-100 bucks for a hi lift, I guess take off the handle to make it as short as possibly and somehow tie it off in the bed? Bungees maybe?

I guess I was envisioning some type of custom mount that could mount maybe under the truck or off of the bed floor -

I keep it on my garage floor...

In all seriousness, I don't know anyone who takes a floorjack offroading. It's not just bulky, it would be a major issue positioning it on uneven terrain.

I get all that, I don't know how many people I have talked to that said when they had an issue they wish they had a floor jack with them.

I mean maybe off the trail in a gravel lot or something. But with a simple plate bumper and a hitch reciever i can get front and rear of my truck off the ground no prob anywhere i want with the offroad base part.

On this note, in bed mount would be the way to go. You dont wanna be dragging the jack through whatever terrain you are wheeling in.

I'll have to come up with something - was hoping some of these Tacoma engineers had already solved this one.

Think you are outta luck on this one man, besides the bungee or ratchet strap option.

I do not have a plate bumper in the front .. at least yet. Just dropped:

    4k on suspension
    900 on tires
    200 on lights
    250 on sliders
    300 on fluids
200 on d-rings and rail backets and new fog bulbs

I'm broke AF for the next.. until 2018

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
A floor jack is a tough one. I do know guys that run with them, but they are on gravel roads. A hi-lift is nice if you have plat bumpers and/or sliders. Personally I like a bottle jack with a 1' X 1' sheet of plywood to keep it from sinking.

That makes sense - I don't think my stock bottle jack will work since I put the lift on, may have to upgrade - simple but great thought, thanks!
