Same-sex marriage

I've got 42 years with the same woman. I am kind of like Archie Bunker, However I must say What folks do at home is ok with me. It does Rattle me a little when displayed in public.

 

You obviously don't know me at all. I'm not playing a pity card because I neither want nor need your pity. My point is your double standard, people are closed minded and bigoted unless they agree with you.

 

so just to clarify this hodgey, if I were to say that "marriage is not a sacred union between a man and woman, and any human can marry another human", and I expand on that for comparison sake and throw in that "an animal can be thrown in the mix of marriage if same said human so desires", then I am considered a sheep______?

 

Why not? Is your brother and his partner not equally as capable as loving someone as both you and your wife?

 

Maybe reading comprehension isn't your thing. I never compared same sex marriage with people marrying animals. I said by redefining the word, it can be redefined again and again and again to mean a marriage to ANYTHING. A guy just "married" his pillow today in Korea as an example. And no, my brother's relationship is not equal to me and my wife's, for 2 things to be equal they must be able to produce the same results.

 

You insinuated it. And you infer your thoughts about what you want me to be saying onto what I am actually saying. I brought that subject up about people jumping to the next level and wanting to marry animals, not equating gay people to people who have sex with animals, but to say "what about when the "real" freaks want to push it to the next level". If you didn't intend to direct your sheepf**ker comment towards me then I apologize. But honestly I don't remember that being brought up multiple times in this thread.
I don't wear panties but if I did, they would not be in a wad. I respect your beliefs and your opinions, look through my posts on here and find one time where I've disrespected another members opinions......................................................................................................let me save you some time, you won't find any. But I won't turn and run like some when I'm being disrespected either. Simply put, the question in the beginning was about gay marriage. My argument was that the term "marriage" (I BELIEVE) should be between a man and a woman. You believe differently....... and the sun will still come up tomorrow. You think I'm wrong, and I think you're wrong and that's really all there is to it.

 

I'm not gonna lie, I haven't sat down and read all 23 pages either, nor do I have any desire to. I'd rather eat my own shoe first.

 

My view is this: Does it cause me or any of my loved ones harm? No. So who I am to stop somoene else from being happy in their lives?

 

Remember every one is entitled to their own thoughts on this. However I am sure that there are far more important and alarming matters to concern us all. Never Discuss Sex, Religion, and Politics. Those are never ending Battles.

 

this my biggest issue with what you said hodgey, people made a comparison for analgy purposes, then you call them a sheep______. Who am I or you to tell someone else who they can and can not love. If a man loves a man so be it, it does NOT take away from the fact you married a woman. Love is love and if you can't accept that it's the same throughout all individuals throughout the world then you my friend, are ignorant.

For you to say that your brothers homosexual relationship is not equal to you and your wife's is pathetic. Would you both not shed the same tears if something tragic happened to your partner?
