looking at getting new rims. the question is should i stick with stock 16" with 4.25" back space or go to a 15" with a little less back space.

    i like the procomp 8069

is there any advantage to using a 15's over 16's?
also will they work on my 03 trd?

will having a little less backspace (4" instead of 4.25) bringing out the rubber out a bit from the frame cause the front end wear items unnecessary stress?

    thanks in advance!

    I'd go 15x8 w/ 4" BS.

15" tires are generally less expensive than 16" tires.

8" width wheel w/ 4" BS will put it right around in line with the fender flares (since stock wheels are 7" wide with 4.5" BS, the new wheels will be pushed out 1.5")

Yes, the wider the track width the more wear on the front end. will you notice it? most likely not.

    Thanks for the reply!

what would be the best tire size to put on those rims (15x8 with 4"BS). (by best i really mean largest that won't have any issues with rubbing). likely going with BF AT's

on my 02 with a 3inch lift i have 15x8 rims with 32x12.5 BFG all-terrians. they rubbed a little on full lock but you can solve that with a little trimming of the valence below the bumper and the pinch weld mod. you should be able to run 33s if you have a 3in lift.

I have 3 inch lift, 16's on 33's Toyo MT's....it rubs a little...if you hit the sand or mudd it will rub on some bumps..but nothing too much

Ok. So I don't have any lift and Its not in the books any time soon.
went looking for rims today and it seems that 15x8x 4"bs are hard to find.
the set I did find the rep was adament there would be a clearance issue with the brakes.

Soo thinking I will stick to 16" rims

I have a 3inch lift on my '03 and im running 285/75/16 with stock rims now. im looking at getting some 16x9 AMERICAN RACING ATX ARTILLERY TEFLON wheels with an offset of -12mm and a backspacing of 4.53in. Would there be any problem running these rims and tires together? would they rub or be to wide or anything? Thanks
