Did hoops even help there? It looks like it still damaged the corner fender and light compartment

 

dont think you can be saved if youre going that fast. But much less damage if there was nothing

 

It did, but I would speculate that the damage would be a lot worse without it. Plus most of the times the hoops would be better in low speed situations. I don't have the picture handy, but I was going real slow down this embankment one time, and my front corner slid into a wall of sand. Luckily it was sand so there was no damage, but if it wasn't, hoops would have protected it.

 

Thought that trip was happening on the 24th

 

I live in an apartment and have no garage in Bethesda, MD. For future reference, wheres a good shop or someone's garage that can help install a bumper, cab mount chop, cut fenders, etc?

 

You're always welcome at my house to do some of that. I'm moving into a house literally 2.5 miles away from your school. I've got a decent set of tools, but no welder. Have an angle grinder though and could do half of a CMC.

 

Only 10% or so of people e er do the other half of a CMC

 

I was that way for a bit. Rolled around on open cab mounts until I could find a welder in the area (in FL). I just couldn't stand all that crap getting thrown against the rubber mount.

They do tend to act as shovels...lol

 

ill help with bumper install. I have a dremel, but youre cutting your own fenders. I will point and laugh though

 

Yeah eff that noise! Don't want to be responsible for messing up his third gen fenders.

 

I'll practice on mine first to clear them 34's. Then maybe I'd do his too. MAYBE.
