    Option B just occurred to me.

    I could move the entire bumper down 1" by drilling new holes in the crossmember. Basically, that moves the bumper back to the 'no body lift' position, as opposed to having it move up with the body.

    Then I think I'd only have to trim most of the lower lip, and then only across about a foot of length. Better than hacking off that same length entirely.

    Ok cool! Thanks. From my mounting plate to the bottom of my grill is 7 5/16". I just made it by a hair.

    I did lower the bumper. Lots of benefits with very little cost.

    I do have to grind down the bolts for the fairlead or grab a couple shorter ones. Otherwise the winch can't sit far enough forward to use the mounting holes in the bumper. Shouldn't be too big of a deal.
