What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I need to do this. I just took off the running boards that came with the truck and did the pinch welds along the bottom of the cab. Waiting for it to dry now.

 

Just curious... Do you know if those RC steps would fit with OEM mud guards still attached? Or would they need to be removed? I know some steps/nerf bars won't fit with them due to length. Been kinda tempted to get some bars or steps for mini additional protection from door dings... realistically would love sliders, but as I don't offroad a ton, might be a waste of money that I don't have at the moment.. and those steps look really nice. They have nothing but amazing reviews on the website & Amazon too.

edit: also.. are the ends of the tubes open? or sealed? I've googled a lot and can't find images of the ends.. if they are open, I wonder if there's some way to seal them from the elements.. living in MA.. snow/sand/salt/water/etc getting up and in there.. wonder if it'd be an issue at all, even if they are corrosion resistant.

 

New snugtop rebel. Added the sportsman package, led light, drop down rear window, roof racks, and upgraded lock (locks and unlocks with the truck).

 

Dynamated the front doors, need to order some more for the rears.

Anyone have a tutorial on removing the headliner? they always scare me

 

I don't believe you will have any issues with mud guards with these. And yes the tubes are open which to me isn't a big deal I like knowing that if water can get in that it can also get out, they seem to be powder coated very well to be corrosion resistant too. I ordered them from Amazon and they came packaged really well and fast!

 

I went to go visit my new puppy this morning. 2 more weeks until I bring her home! Then I took advantage of the nice weather. Washed, clay barred and waxed the truck.

 

I just did that mod and posted some pictures on the following link. I used the excellent instructions from the @GHOST SHIP post and even though his is for a second gen truck it is almost the same except for the rear grab handles and clothes hooks. Just be careful when you reinstall those two items as the spring clips have a tendency to pop out and fall into the headliner you just installed. To quote @GHOST SHIP " ask me how I know, never mind....just a rhetorical question"

Not a huge mod or permanent, but definitely one that I plan to enjoy. Got a rightline tent for my long bed and doing a little pre-camping camping tonight. Fits pretty good with my tool box on, figure it will fit great with it out. I got a bunch of pillows packed in there with a comforter until I get an air mattress.

How much difference did you notice?

 

I had already done the doors, floor, and rear wall so the noise reduction was not as much as the doors and floor which provided the most sound attenuation. When it rains it sounds like light thuds on the roof instead of a lot of pings but you will still hear some rain on the windshield. I live in Florida so the heat rejection is nice from the 2 rolls of Frost King foam insullation I put on top of the Dynamat. Hope this helps.

Do you have wheel spacers? If so what size and what size are your tires?

Yep, I have 1.25 spidertrax all the way around with 265/70 k02s.

I didn't need the spacers until after the lift fyi.

Thank you, I'm already lifted 2 inches in the front and 1 in the rear, trying to avoid buying new rims but wanted them more flush. Looks like a great alternative

 

I had plasti-dip on the grill for a year but it started to fade and streak. The badges still look good.

 

No mine is pretty snug.

 

Drive a wooden shingle in your receiver to snug things up.

 

Finished up my rail install on my 2nd gen but this would work for the 3rd gens. If anyone is going to do it make sure to use back plates for the rivet nuts. I fabbed them but if there is enough interest I will offer a kit with everything needed. PM me and I will start a list.

 

Well I tried to install my Warrior roof rack but found out that the factory holes on my drivers side were not lined up correctly from the factory. So the passenger side bracket is installed but the drivers side I had to tape up and put the trim piece back on. I have an appointment with the dealership for this week to have them look at it. Sucks.
