Good advise here. I'm more of a minimalist camper but don't like to have to fold up the RTT and pack camp anytime I want to go somewhere. I'm building a small 3.5' x 5' light-weight RTT trailer (The Dingleberry) because I don't care for all that EAF stuff like full kitchens on a drawer, hot water heaters, etc. If I want all that, I'll pull the TT and have climate control. I've got a few things to fab on it and it'll be done...but I'm happy with it.

I've done the list thing and that's why this set up was intriguing. Due to some health issues I've started a contracting business since I can't do my current job. so the canopy would suit those need to carry tools and such for jobs. Then when not working, I'd swap over to put my RTT up top ( installing crossbars of course), then doing trails such as the Discovery Routes in the northwest (WABNR , etc).

Cooking set up will be swapped over from my truck bed which is pretty much a grab and go affair in totes and table.

I was more looking and thoughts on the trailer. It's a 5 lug Dodge set up. 3500 lb axle. Would that thing stay pretty stable and mounted? Wondering how a fiberglass canopy would hold up to moderate off road.

    Thoughts?

If this trailer fits with your list, then it may be a good idea.

Is it a Dodge axle (with ring and pinion, etc.)? If not, the hubs can be changed to Toyota 6 lug to match your truck.

It is hard to answer the stability question without seeing the suspension. Again, you could always beef it up.

A lot of us run canopies on our trucks, and they hold up fine off-road. You might consider adding additional structure (inside or outside) to carry the RTT.

My ground sleeping system, barbaric I know. Setup worked great as it started snowing just after these photos were taken. Awning gave us a nice place to cook dinner.

Check out the Camp Chef line up, lots of options with these. I just got the Explorer 2 burner stove, after giving one to a friend for a wedding present.

Dynatrac ProRock 60 Rear Axle, that is important enough.
What size OzTent is that? Been wanting to pick one up for the fall and some trips I have planned.

Where did you get the flag pole at? Looks like it holds up well in the wind.

Ya I removed my rear access seats and made a platform too with overkill tie downs so I can store the fridge and my two small action packers

Click PSU Taco85s build thread in my sig and you might be able to find pics of his arb 50qt in there. It fits just fine. He removed one of the jump seats and made a platform as well that rests on top of the cubby

Took a chance and got an ARQ4WD 270° awning. Gonna see how it does. More details in my build thread if you are curious.
