What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Changed out battery terminals and put in a new battery the old one only last 12 years the 2 g eyelet terminal wouldn't fit the ground but luckily they had a 2/0 and that worked.

got this in the mail and I'll hook it up tomorrow.

Mounted my led flush mount lights on the rear bumper. It was a pita cause I don't have a compressor right now so half my tools are useless. I used a sawsaz and that worked fine. I would have not done it that way if the bumper was nice. My bumper bent and rusted after a few conversations it's had with trees and rocks along the trail.

Well, I was gonna do some mods today but the mountain trails were calling.

 

I was sad to part with it but it started to get waves in it and I'm going on a trip through Colorado. I think ignoring it and taking it for granted works

 

Driver side one was a pain! Used a bit (a lot) of my father's knowledge for tricks and tips to get it all done. I saw that trick with the rope and a hammer but didn't thought of this today lol.

I'll search it out. I assume so no one steals the mat right? Not a bad idea being the #1 selling midsize truck lol there's a billion of them up here in mass.

 

That's why I added a lock on the tailgate for sure !

 

The bed mat still lifts right out with the tailgate locked...

 

Yes it just makes it more difficult for a thief to snatch it.

My Dad came up to visit from Georgia, so the two of us are taking on the task of taking the rust off the hitch and rear bumper. Didn't realize the bumper came off with the hitch. Crazy how they will replace the frame and leave a rusty ass hitch on a truck. Breaker bar came in handy today and a lot of PB Blaster!

Impromptu got an angle grinder today on sale at Lowes, also had some gift cards and my dad suggested a flapper wheel would get rust flakes off. I love an excuse to get new tools. I feel like I'll be needing to weld something soon!

 

You could also use a needle gun. Works so well the Navy loves em!

Was gonna do that, but funds wouldn't allow getting a compressor and needle gun today. Also my plan is for the bumper and hitch to just work for another year or two while I save up for a sweet plate bumper.
