I had to buy a whole shifter assembly from the 98 to get the shift knob. 65 bucks off ebay wasn't bad

I'm hoping to have time to swap auto to manual this summer, any reason you didn't choose LCE or Marlin crawler?

Your wheels are probably one of my favorites that I've seen on here for first gens. Wouldn't work with my white truck but great for a dark color.

Replaced the pads, rotors, and did a brake fluid flush and bleed. According to service records the brakes were bled a couple years ago by a major chain lube shop. LIES! The master cylinder was overflowing with fluid and the brake fluid I pulled out of the bleeder valves was almost rust colored.

The bleeder valves were on so tight I had to use a lead pipe on my 10mm to get it open. The rubber caps on the rear tires were so old it disintegrated when I removed it. I don't think these brakes have ever been bled. I have a suspicion the lube shop just pumped out the old fluid and dumped in new fluid and called it "bled and flushed". I think the fluid I pulled was the original 1998 brake fluid.

I replaced everything with PowerStop K1233 Z36 brake pads and slotted & drilled rotors. Great improvement over the old ones.

Surprisingly a lot of rust on the calipers for being a California truck.
