What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Worth waiting the one you want is sweet- been using it for a couple months

 

As others have mentioned it's crucial to have a solid recovery point front and rear. There aren't many options for the front of these trucks, so the hook that comes stock on the trd off road is a very popular option.

 

I want one...!

So not all Tacomas have the hook on the front? I have an off road and assume that they all had it. I added the D ring hitch to the rear, figured that was the easiest and fast way to get a towing point for the rear.

 

The d ring in the hitch is fantastic, and the same thing I use in the rear.

For the front, only the off roads come with the hook. Others come with a small ring not really meant for a hard recovery. The hook bolts straight into place on all our trucks though. Does that make sense?

 

The next question is, where can one procure said hook?

 

Ah! Gotcha. This is the first taco I have owned (first truck in general). I am glad that I got the off road one for many reasons, here is another reason.

 

You picked a good one! The best year too! If you take care of your truck the resale value will hold like crazy.

 

Yeah, I take really good care of it and I love it. Don't plan to sell it though.

This happened today. Bolt came clean out. Went to the gym and came back home with no problem. 30 minutes later went to back out the driveway and wheel was wobbly.
Thank God I made it home somehow. Took my dad's truck down the road and the bolt was in the middle of the road at the entrance of the neighborhood.

I think I'm going to get 885's and replace the 887's. I got way more lift than I was hoping for and the angles make me uncomfortable on the lower ball joints. Probably going to replace the lower bjs while im at it

 

99% official. The truck isn't close, so I haven't seen it in person yet. The seller has been very transparent with me though and everything checks out on my end as far as carmax and service records go. Unless this truck turns out to be a piece of shit (highly doubt it) then yes! Back in the game!
