How bad is the rearview? I like the mid height but I'm not going to use an RTT so why not get the extra clearance?

Quick question(s): Did your truck come with a tonneau cover? If so, did you have to remove the pegs for the bar install in the bed?

I fabricated mounts out of some angle I had laying around. They were meant to be temporary till I got longer material, I havnt got around to building the longer ones. They have held up under some pretty good loads tho. 20170521_091735.jpg

Aah. Nice. If they work that's awesome. I will need to figure something out as I like your idea of using the rack to keep folks with sticky fingers off my stuff.

I'm running the same bars and I don't have to remove the pegs. In fact I don't even have to remove the tonneau at all. Bars fit fine with my RTT IMG_0109.jpg

Cool. Last question I think. Are yours the standard height or did you get the tall which adds another four inches?

I got the tall ones. The standard height won't fit my tent while still having my tonneau cover folded to the front. Plus I prefer the look of the taller ones, also allows me to fit more gear in the bed height wise.IMG_0205.jpg

    Workin' on it....
I'm considering going to a bed rack but still going back and forth. Right now I've got a canopy and like the idea that everything is locked up in there.

How are you guys securing your Hilifts & shovels from thievery? Cable lock?

IMG_1845.jpg I had some plates welded to my bed rack for mounting purposes. I drilled a hole for a lock to pass through for the hilift. I use a cable lock when I mount my shovel/ax. My bed rack was a TW/Craigslist find, minus the mounting plates. So I purchased some angle iron and was able to make it work with my tonneau by mounting behind the bed rail and using the bed rail mounting bolts.
