HI all. Took the pup out for another backpacking trip up the Forest Circus road about three miles. My guard dog. Barked and growled at some deer I could not see close to camp about dinner time, then again after we hit the tent, could hear them crunching thru the drying out brush and twigs. In my ear that time. Too funny, hackles up in a tizzie. Good! See about bear next. He is around four months old now.

    Evening all:
This is getting old, either raining and the river is high, or too windy to be able to fish properly, or they just aren't hitting, looks like I need to learn how to catch summer walleye! :( It's been open a month for the state, and the river is open year round, I don't have a single walleye since it opened in Pa., normally we have quite a few by now. :annoyed:

Good to hear the pup is standing guard Duane, that may come in handy one day, his ears and nose are way better than ours.

This rainy windy weather has been a real pain for just about everyone Carl. Hope you get some nice fishing weather soon.

Glad Repo is working out as a good traveling companion Duane.

    Have a good night all.

This comes under>you learn something new everyday!
I just read about where a boat blew up and injured 3 people after 28gal of gas was pumped into a flush mount fishing rod holder! o_O
Apparently this isn't the first time this has happened either, and that others have done the same but without injury.

Have heard of this happening in the past, usually when someone not familiar with said boat does the fueling. The instances I heard of were discovered before an explosion could occur.

    Hope the injured recover quickly.

Indeed. I read somewhere recently that a dog can pick up a scent from as little as two MOLECULES of material. That's incredible.

Good morning Susan and guys. Cool mornings still here out west, 39F this AM. Rain maybe Thursday.
Repo is showing signs of lifting a hind leg, too funny. Not sure of his exact birth date, so the vet wanted to give him one more series of shots this Friday for Parvo. Not sure when we can do the attitude adjustment surgery/procedure, soon I think or around six months.
Fresh firewood I cut earlier is stacked, woodshed is almost full, kindling split, bring on camping and maybe some fishing for a change.
Off to get my neck and back crunched. Back still hurts from the fall on ice in Lassen VNP over a month ago.

They are indeed amazing Dave. From what I hear, they can sense fear, danger, possible weather issues(earthquakes, tornadoes etc.)

Take care of yourself Duane. Back problems are a painful ailment. My sons dog (male) is 3 yrs old and still squats like a female dog unless there is a pole or tree or fire hydrant handy then he lifts a leg . Hope your weather gets better soon. They are calling for more rain then into the 90's next week:eek:.

    Have a good one all.

My back has had issues for years, doesn't stop me. My neck, last seven years or so. Since retiring a year ago, at least I have fewer ocular migraines.
I jog twice a week, takes its toll on my get up and go for the rest of the day, been going between 6 and 7 in the morning.

I get to Lassen two or three times a year. Ton of snow this winter. I live about 90 minutes away.

Thanks, Ken, those photos are from Lassen Volcanic NP, which is in N. Ca. But that doesn't make you mistaken, it is beautiful country.

Yes, those were taken in July 2011 after the big winter. I think this years winter might have beat it.
I used to live in Fairfield.

Morning Gent's . :annoyed:More damn RAIN today. This has to have been the wettest past 2 months on record. But on a brighter note, we don't have to shovel it:).

    Same here.
    Can't do shit outside.
    Been fishing twice this year.
Last year about 7 or 8 at this time.
    Outdoor projects still waiting.
Lost our cucumbers. Planted another set.
    Been on the bike twice.
I think the boat could be used as a daily driver.

    Ok.
Just day to day. She is off the heavy meds.
She says her tongue is not part of her body anymore.
She is going to have to learn how to talk again.
    I told her it's swollen.
    It's going to take time.
But her work requires phone skills that she is great at.
None of that is important right now.
We see which road we have to travel Monday.
