Hey all, new to the forums, new to owning my own Toyota. Just bought a 2011 Tacoma, dual cab 4x4 and am all excited to learn a lot. I'm not a big car/truck guy but I learn quick and have never not been able to do anything so this should be a lot of fun. Did a lot of work on an old '59 CJ5, don't actually see a lot of work being don here. I was actually sent here from another site linked to a thread about sockets needed for Gen 2 tacomas and figured this site could be another book in my shelf, so why not. Look forward to learning a lot from here and eventually giving back. Right now we are located in Georgia moving this fall to Hawaii for a few years, military. Love all things outdoors, 3 daughters and a great wife and this is just another great tool to add to that lifestyle.

Thanks for the welcome. So after a few hours of research and learning I have figured out I have a double cab 4x4 SR5, convenience package with the towing package, don't think I have the Bluetooth stereo but Satellite/XM/Sirrius and 6 disc changer, and I have a front skidplate, but not the TRD package(no power outlet in the bed). The bed also has a liner with some rails and two adjustable tie down rings, I assume these are standard as looking at pictures a lot of them have this. I have yet to find my pigtails for the tow package, and my glove box is broken, works but left side is broke. I noticed under the passenger seat is a lot of wiring. I am in love with this thing already and we've only put 150 miles on it so far.

We got it Friday went to a lakeside bar-b-que Saturday had a storm yesterday and I work mids so no pictures yet. The two previous owners took good care of it, no dents or scratches and it's got 77K miles on it. Missing one of the key alarms and the tools for the jack, just the tools, Jack is there, ordered both off of ebay. Read up at work on the suggested tools, wrenchs and sockets and will work on putting that together tomorrow. Only thing I'm looking for in the near future is a good bed topper to put the dogs in the back, but that might not be till the fall when we move.

This site has so much knowledge and unlike many other sites I've been on for other things, not a lot of snotty people, glad to be part of such a great community.

My last/final duty station (Navy) was an instructor on rotating shiftwork. Followed that up with 5 years and counting on mids at current job. What do you teach?

A 25s? That was my last MOS before I got out. Old, broken, and too much time spent in various sandboxes
    Nice truck, and welcome!

Man... it is a small world. Spent damn near a year there with 551. "Watch and warn!" Or as we used to say "watching porn!" If you yell it loud enough they can't tell the difference
