Truck has a new frame. Like most of you, I have been chasing noises, mine being this loud metal on metal bang! noise i keep hearing. It is very difficult to pinpoint as it doesn't happen every single time, but probably every other time. Definitely sounds like the noise is up front. I have read tons of posts with no definite solution, i dont believe it is my brake pads. Seems to happen with foot on brake and putting truck into Reverse or drive mostly. Sound is extremely loud, i wish something would just fall off so i can fix the stupid thing.
I already checked torque on lca, sway bar links, shock bolts. My next step is to replace the steering rack bushings as they are original and i already have new ES ones and recheck torque on everything up front.
Was wondering if the cause can possibly be the trans mount or universals on the driveshaft?
    Any input would be appreciated.

Have someone else shift it from drive to reverse while you look and listen. Once you narrow down where the sound is coming from, you should be able to see something shift. A U joint will usually be more of ringing TINK sound as it rings the driveshaft like a wind chime.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
maybe check motor mounts, esp the one under tail of transmission?
    cab mounts?
    Skid plate missing a bolt?

skid plate is fine, i even removed it and drove around and still had the noise. Leaf springs were replaced under recall and are all whole. Tried getting underneath and having someone shift into drive and reverse but of course it didnt make the noise that time
Also had it up on my lift and tapped everything with a rubber mallet and nothing was loose or making noise
will try shifting into drive and reverse along with body mounts and trans mount

Brake pads shifting make a loud "clank" when you apply the brakes the first time after shifting from drive to reverse or vice versa.

Sounds like you ran over a large steel manhole cover that's loose.

I think the problem is there are a few sounds. i have the loud metal on metal bang, theres that loud click that may be the brake pads floating, and i have a thump (axle warp). Im gonna try recording audio for the loud sound
