Now that @lawndart is on this site, how tall are you and how do you fit in the AluCab tent? I can't imagine that I would fit in one but I really like that style of tent.

About 6'1, and it fits very comfortably. Plenty of space for 2 people and a dog. Or in my case myself and my dog and a sizable amount of crippling depression.

Sweet. I'm 6'2." so that means I'd fit. I tried to check it out at expo but couldn't find your trailer.

Trailer was in the overflow camping area, while the truck was in a booth. But it's a great tent, but there's some stuff you kinda have to fix before you start using it. The ladder...is built well, but it sucks in that it's too long so you can't store it anywhere. The mattress also needs some memory foam to make it comfortable. And I really wish the doors/flaps zipped upwards rather than downwards. The views are better in an Auto Home, Magolina, James Baroud, but the speed of setup on the Alu-Cab is pretty awesome.

If you haven't already gotten memory foam, costco has memory foam mattress pads. My girlfriend used to have one and we cut it to fit the tent. It's great. The bed in the tent is more comfortable than our bed at home.

I'm looking to get a hardshell tent next. I'm tired of folding it up every time we want to drive elsewhere. If I had a trailer, it would be no prob, but hardshells seem to be easier to set up and take down. I like CVT's new hardshell a lot.

I think you'd be happy with a James Baroud or Magolina. The CVT's are just them buying more Chinese copies of the Auto Homes/Magolina design. They were trying to build their own design but I guess they just gave up.

And yeah already replaced the foam. Makes a big difference.

I've seen them a Subarus that aren't much bigger than a civic. Guess it's the lack of desire to have it on a civic.

Yeah I've seen them on civics in Yosemite. People rent them. I think I'm gonna sell it to her brother. Find a solid ground tent until I can afford a hard shell and have a daily driver so I don't have to take it off/put it on constantly to fit in structures in LA

Awesome. The thing I dread most about going back to ground is carrying an air mattress

I think that Lindsay and I would fit nicely in this tent.
